Mini-DV

Filming with a GL2 only allows you to store the footage on tapes. Been taking them to a local shop to have them converted to DVD, but I was wondering if theres a way to do it yourself. Can I purchase a software or something that allows me to convert directly to a .mov on my computer?

Most editing software will allow you to capture footage using your camera or what most people do is buy a super shitty dv camera to capture tapes so they dont overuse the heads on their nicer dv camera.

ayy i also got a GL2, best way to get your footage is by using a shitty mini dv camera to play the tapes while hooked up to your computer, then either using a editing software, or just a screen capture software capture the tape!

you can use the GL2 to play the tapes but it will shorten the life of your Heads like sheath said.
