Mind=blown

If a perfect sphere was placed on a perfectly smooth surface table, it will never actually touch the table. It might appear to touch the table at a point, but if one was to zoom in on the point of contact, they would see that the point of contact was much smaller than it originally appeared. No matter how many times they were to zoom in, this would continue to occur.

No you are right. Crazy stuff huh?

Think about this. What you are seeing is always in the past. Ponder that.

Time is bendable by mass and speed. If one was to leave Earth on a space ship, and travel to a black hole nearby, and orbit the black hole along the event horizon (the event horizon is the closest you can get to a black hole while still being able to escape its gravitational pull) for one year, they would return to Earth and it would be ten thousand years older.
mind=blown

I remember we tried grasping that concept, as well as Frame of Reference in Physics. My mind was blown the whole entire time.

If you removed all the empty space from every atom, the entire population of earth could be condensed into an area the size of a sugar cube.

oh shit. i always thought squirt mean exactly that, squirt. and i knew the turtle...but the squirrel tail...it all makes sense now...dear god this thread changed my outlook on life. BY THE WAY its change your facebook profile picture to a pokemon month

do you know what a pallet is? the thing in the picture that artists keep little blobs of paint on. and all the other towns are colours.... now you get it?

squirtle the squirting turtle

charmander the charring salamander

bulbasaur the bulbous dinosaur

the three primary pokemon (in unevolved form) have names combining a descriptive attritube with their creature type

today in calc we did a thing on if you revolve y=-1/x from x=0 to x=1 around the y-axis, the resulting figure (impossible in real life because it would extend to infinity) would have an infinite surface area but a volume of π.

Therefore, if you had π paint you could fill the figure and cover an infinite surface area.

hard to understand but if youve taken calc youll know what im talking about

How exactly did you solve for y at x=0?

Also, if you filled it with paint, technically it would all spill out the bottom, since -1/x x->0 = -∞.

The solid would have a hole in the bottom!

yes but it goes to negative infinity so it would keep falling forever.

and you dont have to solve for y at x=0, you do an improper integral to find the hypothetical area of the infinite solid
