Migraines

So heres the deal. I get migraines every now and then and they are just fucking awful. Anyone know any ways to stop them once their coming, once you have them, or from getting them at all?

I've been getting migraines for like 20 years. For me I can't really do anything, I just lay down until they pass.

this. and lack of food. MSG can cause migraines too. and if you feel one starting get some caffeine in you,it usually helps stop it

I just take some aleve and chill the fuck out. But if you get them a lot there is some good medication you can get that will stop/reduce the severity.

This thread is ironic as fuck. I have one right now for the second day in a row. Had one for literally 12+ hours yesterday. This one isn't as bad. I don't have any of my migraine meds either it suckksss.

But yeah, go to the doc and get a prescription. I take Zomig. I usually have to pop two of them at once but it works good.

migraines suck dick. last week i had one that was so bad i puked and couldnt move my head. also had a sore throat. everything in my head hurt

Are migraines when you vision starts getting blurry and then you get a really intense headache followed by really bad nausousness? If it is, iv gotten them every few days since last year when I was concussed. They are awful, I drink a couple bottles of water when my vision starts getting blurred and it seems to help a little.

Excedrin migraine works for me. The last time I felt a migraine on the march I took that shit and it nipped in the bud. Same can be said a couple of other times. If I don't take something, I usually end up throwing up everywhere and napping from fatigue.

excedrin migraine is amazing

i also have a prescription for zomig which helps a ton but is really expensive

you need to take meds right when you feel it coming on, if you're already about to vomit then it's tough to fight it off and tough to hold the meds down.

I've been starting to get migraines like my dads (cluster migraines i think they're called)But yeah extra strength Excedrin is what helps the most right now. My dad takes special blood thinner pills which helps him a lot. Talk to your doctor about it, and see what they think.

I've had migraines since I was 7, I am now 15. I hated them and normally threw them up, then layed down until I could fall asleep.

Well I probably have the best news ever. The problem might be that your neck is out of alignment. You don't know it and you'd think that you'd go to a normal chiropractor. Well that makes it worse. This is what was wrong with me, along with TMJ. (PM me if you jaw ever hurts and I'll tell you more about it). Well go to a Nucca Doctor. There is a great one in Tomah, WI. There are very few of the in the USA. They do upper neck adjustments literally by poking you. I have not had a migraine let alone a headache in over a month and a half. Seriously, check them out.

PM me for more info.

stay hydrated, try to also stay in a low stress environment, stretch to get blood flowing to your brain, deep breathing, and just relaxing in general will help.

"Caffeine is a common ingredient in many prescription and over-the-counter headache medications (see list below). Caffeine additives make pain relievers 40% more effective in treating headaches. Caffeine also helps the body absorb headache drugs more quickly, bringing faster relief. By adding caffeine and, in turn, taking less medication, you can reduce the risk for potential side effects and possible drug addiction."

I used to get migranes so bad when i was younger. Wost things ever. This may sout wierd but iwhen they wee really bad i would puke ( from the migrane no make myself puke) and like 10 minutes afterwards i would feel so much better

I dont get them near as bad as i used to. Does anybody else get an aura floaty thing in their vision during a migraine? (yes I have gone to a doctor)

How do you know whether you have migraines vs. headaches?Because I seem to get headaches triggered by too much sodium, too much caffeine, too much sugar, when I'm tired, when I'm hungry, when I'm stressed, when I'm dehydrated etc. I'd always assumed that they were just headaches because at least half the time I could figure out one of the above that might be causing it.But at the same time they often seem to fit the symptoms list for migraines with the nausea and sensitivity to light/smells etc.

do you ever have like minnie neck spasms where the back of your neck tightens up and gets really hot and then your tongue gets numb?

I used to get them occassionally. Vision would go blurry, and then a pounding headache would come on that would last a good 8+ hours. Pain medicine at the first sign of vision changes helped to minimize the headache.

I found that I got them during periods when I was not sleeping enough, eating unhealthy or not drinking enough water. Haven't had them in years though. (Knock on wood)

My mom gets them like clockwork if she has ANYTHING with aspartame in it.

Take a lot of Vitamin B when you have them, and when you don't, continue to take one Vitamin B tablet once a day. It really helps. I used to get them all the time.

I get them about once or twice a year, actually had my most recent one yesterday and I still can't figure out what triggers them. I've got a really good prescription pain killer called co-codamol, pretty much takes away all the pain but leaves me feeling really out of it. Go to your doctor and see if they can give you anything for it, not worth putting up with the pain.

Dude youre gona be like WTF, but whatever.

My mom has had migraines since she was like 13 she now 48 and she went to see a acuponcturer and he told her to drink a shitload of cafein and iron ( in red meat) and my mom says it works

Alright man, but seriously, find a NUCCA doctor and/or TMJ specialist.

If it wasn't for them I would probably have a headache right now. ;)

Only had to skip one time of skiing this season, compared to 10 last season.

Nah man, but when I have a migraine the back of my neck just feels like it's going to give loose and my head is going to fall off.

get a new job ^

but if that was supposed to say jaw then I might do that too. my dentist complains that I must be grinding my teeth at night and I clench a lot and it gets sore. weirdly it gets really sore when I run sometimes.
