Might live in SLC for a bit next year...what should I know?

So I think I'll be graduating a semester early from HS and living in SLC w/ a couple roomates next year.... the idea is split rent, work 20 ish hours a week, do some freelance video work as well, and hopefully ski as much as possible at brighton/ park city..... has anyone done this or live in the area? what else should i know?

try to stay on the east side of salt lake, sugar house is a great place to start looking for apartments/houses. pc and brighton are the best for park, and brighton has insanely good backcountry access but inbounds its not too impressive. try to expand your horizons out of the park and spend a few days at snowbird, alta or in the backcountry, trust me you will be glad you did.

if park laps are your main thing, PCMR, B-town and canyons have your fix. PC area resorts don't even hold a smoldering match to the terrain that the cottonwoods have, though. Just let that be a rule of thumb.
