My friends are renting a place in Breck and want me to join, what are my best job options I want to start early, I would move there early January. Should I try Breck or restuarnts or what?

City Market pays better than most restaurants. If you work there,

you'll start at $11/hr. I would start asking around sooner than later.

Some places like to get winter work lined up early, whereas others tend

to wait until right before the season starts.

it'll be hard to find a job if you dont start looking right now
in january you might be able to be a liftie, most mountains have a lot of lifties quit or get fired in the first month or so of the season, so by late dec/early january theyre usually looking to hire some new ones
it's a tough job sometimes but you get a lift pass and a guaranteed paycheck

it will be based on who you know- seriously. If you go the resort job route, then it will be tough. Go out, be aggressive, and sell yourself at as many places as you can. Display responsibility. Simple as that. The competition for work is poor considering it is Summit County aka "Bummit" county.

ok thanks yea i have a pretty good resume' for being 19 so i'll get to it now i really want a resort job for the ski pass

you might be too late on a lot of stuff unless you hurry up and get an application asap
i know we're getting pretty close to being all staffed out here in vail except for ski instructors, but that's such a horrible job for so many reasons...
and since vail resorts owns breck i would assume it's sorta the same deal over there right now
and just a word of warning, just because a job is listed on their website for people to apply doesnt mean they're actually available. theyre ridiculous about hiring people in person even if they havent filled out an app yet, then they make them go back and fill one out just to have on file at HR afterward...i know of at least 3 jobs just on my mountain that are up on the site that are completely staffed out and no longer hiring
but it's worth a shot
