Forget St Sauver/Avila to far and not worth the drive through MTL and up the autoroute...Tremblant even further and way over hyped (and priced) ---straight up skip these....wasted travel time....
45 minutes - 60 mins away from Lennoxville:
Orford nice scenic groomers, good trees, park ahh well pretty basic.
Sutton expensive, crowded, but nice terrain. Terrible snowmaking, you need good snow. I think they really need to invest more cash to rejuvenate this hill. Although when there is snow it is really great.
Owls head, pretty big area, couple parks spread out. Expensive pass, but lots of choice to play with. Decent tree areas too
Bromont is a good little hill with good nightskiing (ideal for student), grooming and excellent snowmaking....in addition they have a cheap seasons pass. The Park consumes a good part of the hill and they have an excellent assortment of jibbery rails and jumps.
A little further...2hrs from Lennoxville
Jay Peak. Now we are talking....real snow, decent steeps, awesome trees. When I think of classic east coast skiing I think Jay. I dream of powder days I have had at Jay....goddamn Jay f...ing Peak.
My advice buy a pass for Bromont to get a quick ski on, but go to Jay if you really want to ski... They have a deal if you have a pass for another hill for 49$ a day....or 100$ pass and you pay 7$ per day...deal.
Bishops is a real party school...you will definately have fun....oh yeah and you might get an education too....ummm real quick advice: use a condom...he.he..he!
