theres been alot of hate on the midwest lately and i dont think thats cool. man seems like every one should be able to love skiing just the same with what they got and not have to brag. i just think its crazy that theres soo many good rippers that come out of the midwest park seen that no ones ever heard of and then they just blow up and everyones like damn where did he come from? its bull shit someone should give us some god damn coverage. bastards

Most peeps out of the midwest are good due to the icy conditions they face there. Most have great balance and dont get the pow to land tricks in.

yeah the midwest doesnt really get any coverage. but thats because all the skiing here blows. sure there are a lot of good skiiers that come out of the midwest, but its not because they came from here, its despite that they came from the midwest.

i love skiing and ill ski as much as i can while im here, but as soon as i get a chance im moving out west.

 
yeah, all the skiing her sucks compared to out west and even on the east. marquette mountian is probably the best we've got and it still fails in comparision to most place on the east.

Alls i know is i have a blast in the midwest right now its just about having fun and skiing sure ill probly move out west one day but i sure as hell will never knock the MW cuz thats where i learned to ski!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

What about Hannah Epps. She is from Maruette Michigan. She was at the X games last winter. also took a 4th at the US Open in 2003 and 3rd at the WSI in whistler in 2003.

it's funny how people get so stoked about marquette. i mean, it's a cool scene and shit but i live 2 hours north and not many people from the ripley/bohemia scene go there more than twice a year because of the long lift lines and icy ass jumps. our shit is way better maintained, but maybe it's a good thing we're unknown. we get the place to ourselves and there's never any drama. half hour north and i got big mountain, half hour south and i got a park with 65 foot tables. works for me.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

when i was talking to seth he said he lived in WI for a couple years when he was about 15, skied at cascade or some shit like that. anyways, Marquette is the best we've got so we may as well be proud of it. I go to whistler every year so i get to ski really good shit too, but still, Marquette is pretty sick for the midwest.

yes there will be an Event at Marquette Mountain, Michigan in place of the now extinct Midwest Extremes; yes it is called the Midwest Open. The tentative dates of the event are March 16 -20 respectively. Athletes expected are as fallows………….. Screw it I am lazy and will copy paste an email to me (Stu Epps) from Eric Iberg……

i will talk to rossie tonight, but i am sure he will not be able to commit til the end of oct.

i am looking to do the event march 17, 18, 19, and 20. qualifications on thrus for slopestyle final(on friday), then slopestyle final friday, half pipe final saturday and big air sat. night under the lights.

i think a 4 day event is a must to make it flow smoothly. it allows everyone to recover from every event and put on the best event for us(athletes and organizers)

i can confirm athlete representation right now. my goal for athletes is Tanner Hall, JP Auclair, Boyd Easley, Grete Ellission, TJ Schiller, Sean Field, Kye Peterson, Sean and Cal Pettit, Phil Belanger, Phil Larose, Phil Dion, Sarah Burke, Greg Tuffelmyre, Omar Otte, Nick Mercon, Matt Sterbenz etc.. I can gauntee i can get more as well. this is hugh for the exposure of the sport for 'local media' newspapers and news channels and radio.

I can help with sponcers as well. if we can lock down the dates i will go after red bull, oakley, armada as the major sponcers for this event. D-Structure pro shop in quebec will also want to be involved.

media exposure we can start on right now if we have dates. i can get freeze to do a write up before the event in a january or febuary issue. as well as get staff photographers from freeskier and freeze at the event. we get dates soon enough i can get plake to come as well and host an rsn episode from your mountain.

i am working on getting a televison program(Fox Sports Net) for the event as well if you are interested. it would be done by the guy who runs the American Freeski Tour that started last year.�

east coast skiers complain about icy conditions all the time but i'm almost positive it's waaaaay worse here. at least they got nice resorts with good terrain
