Mid-trick blackouts

every time I go to spin more than a 1 it feels like my brain goes completely blank until I land. Is this usual and how did you get over it?

so right after I learned 3's I went for one on a really weird side and I don't remember anything from the rotations but I just landed and happened to be facing forward, it didn't even feel like I spun any more then a 180.

I think this is pretty normal, the more and more comfortable you get in the air it’ll start to change. You’ll be able to spot more and more of the landing the more you get used to rotating. Just focus on spotting your landings and you’ll start to get more comfy

yeah I black out testing new features/tricks. idk I guess it's a mixture of adrenaline and fear

I think I just close my eyes because I get scared, I tend to hope for the best on smaller jumps... like when I played baseball and I was about to catch the ball...

I once sent a fairly big backflip, and I don’t remember the trick at all. Got it on video tho, stomped it haha

Repetition will fix this. My first 3s were completely blind, but now after probably 50+ attempts I am much more comfortable. Same with any trick I guess.

Sounds like someone takes a lotta balls to da face

Seriously now it’s an awareness skill, once you become more comfortable as stated, you will see a difference.

Simply put your eyes and brain are a level behind your body right now.

I definitely feel this way with backies. Totally blank out and don’t remember what the time in the air was like, just know that I stomped it.

and I agree with you on the spins too OP, fricken hate em. I definitely freak out over 3s for no reason whatsoever... even though I’ve known em for like 4 years
