Hey guys, im looking for a mid range lens around 17-50 or something like that. I have around 500/600 max to spend.

I've been looking at the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and it gets mixed reviews but i hear alot of people on here like it, anyone have any input on it?

iv looked at some other ones like the sigma and the canon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 EF-S IS STM Lens or canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer USM Autofocus Lens

looking to be able to use with glidecam, do want a low f stop, and ill be using it for mostly video! any help is highly appreciated! +k for all

tamron 17-50 is the best you can get for the price, cant beat it for 300-350

Especially when you do mostly video, the biggest drawback of the tamron-the autofocus speed, wont matter as you will use manual focus instead.

Definitely a solid choice. Seriously a 2.8 through all focal lengths is ideal, if you can appreciate the optical qualities that come with a 2.8, and justify the price. But the tamron would be a good choice because anything Nikon or canon will be easily twice as much. But that's not to say their qualities don't warrant the extra price. But yes do go for the 2.8! Quality stuff
