Who has the best park in Mi??? I personally like Crystal, but I hear nubs is good....whadaya say?

Sure, the good guys always win....but the bad guys have more fun...

Crystal easily has the best rails in lower michigan. Nubs has the best pipe and a decent park, but are really gay about there invert rule. Boyne mountain and hylands both have good pipes and good parks, they were pretty equal last year. I'd say either crystal or one of the boyne's is best. Crystal could easily be the best if they used there brains and actually cut a superpipe with there superpipe dragon.

yeah, crystal has 10 rails but they are dumb and they put like 4 up at a time, they dont groom there hits enough and the jumps arent that well built. I would say that Boyne Mountain and Highlands both have incredibily well built jumps but the parks are kinda small compared to other places. Marquette also is really good and this year they got a ton more rails and there park guy worked at Mammoth last year so they should be highly improved. Nubs also should be highly improved because Bryce, one of the boyne highlands guys, in in charge of there park now.

For something different, check out Ripley up in Houghton. There isn't any separate

park, because really the whole mountain is a park. There are tons of natural

terrain features that make nice hits, and you get a variety because of it that you won't

find in any park. we can build up whatever we want wherever we want too, so there's

no limits except what we can come up with.

perfect example: two seasons ago, we had just gotten the snowmaking equipment, and

there were these two HUGE piles off to one side of the hill that just sat for about a month.

They were about 20-25 ft tall and the peaks were 70 ft apart, minimum. One day, we

were up on the first one carving out a quarter pipe, and this dude Mario (who's actually a

patroller) rolls up, looks at it, asks us if we're gapping them. One thing led to another, and

pretty soon we're helping him build a kicker next to our quarter for him to do this gap with.

It was one of those things every one of us must have thought about looking at those piles

every day, but it went unspoken because of the sheer madness it would take to try. So by dusk,

Mario is taking a practice run, straiightlining from 3/4 up the hill, and decides it's good to

go. Got the shit on video, it's the sickest thing EVER, in the air forever, 40 ft off the ground

at midpoint............ lands right top of the second peak and blows up. Patrol was right there

the whole time; he thought he could do it, they let him try it at his own risk and went to see

if he needed help right away. No 'that's too dangerous, we're gonna bust it' bullshit.

Ripley rules.

I saw people doing inverts at nubs nob and noone seemed to care. Apple Mountain is definitely not a good park or ski hill.

There is nothing motherly about mother nature. Except for her big mountainous breasts.

dude, you guys have to hit pine knob this year, we have two 30 foot tables, a 35 foot gaped kicker step doen thingy that easily sends you 30 in the air, and a nice step down

shit, i landed on my head agian

Marquette has a shit load of big jumps.

Our garage hit is about 55 to 60 feet and we have another 50 to 55 footer right after it.

for sure about crystal, there jumps are so shitty. Hopefully for boarding for breast cancer i can get them to have a good table.

holy shit u guys are lucky i was at boyne last week and the park was awsum comparied to our u guys even have a half pipe we finailly just got a dinky quarter pipe. and everybody says boyne sucks be happy w/ that u got!!!

i miss actual snow ahhhhh

don't judge michigan by the lower peninsula, marquette has some very big jumps with very steep long landings, that won't kill your knees, oh yeah we just set up a 60 feet mailbox style downkink. that's right after our 20 some foot c-rail.

Nubs Nob's park sucks ass now. They took almost all the lip off of their jumps. The big moto is like a starting ramp for the starting ramp of the pipe.

its not the biggest, but mont ripley in hancock has one of the best parks iv ever been in, and iv skied marquette, boyne, and nubs. They groom the jumps (which are really good and BIG) almost every day so theyre never hard. The only thing they lack is a pipe dragon

marquette just got a bunch of snow and the park is pretty sweet right now... the transfer gap is still up and sweet to hit still

easily its sugar loaf

IM out like a blind kid in laser tag--- --- I'm out like a midget in a high jump competition

ive been almost everywhere in mi, marquette is the best, ripley is second but far behind, im down with ripley when there is powder, nice steep grade for landings all about the mountain

i like to play poggs

if its unnatural its dirty

Timber mutha'fukin' Ridge! no.. actaully i would say Nubs.

is this thread form last year? Well, in winter 2003/2004 marquette wins, thats it, they win...come to the midwest extremes if you dont believe us...

skiing sucks

I havent been to marquette this year but i have been to nubs and both the boynes and nubs is better by far. They just hosted the young bloodz comp and sean put together a really sick run for the event.
