MHSSC vs Windels

So, I'm 100% doing one of these this year but whcih one, I only found out about MHSSC from a thred on here a couple of days ago. Up untill then i was planning on doing windels session 6 or 7.
From some of reviews, MHSSC is a place to "actually" learn productivly compared to maybe having a little more fun and having pro's throw sick shit. Honestly couldnt care who throws anything while i'm there, pro wise because which ever one i pick, ther'll be no doudt a 12 year old kid doin 1080's and shit. Compared to my ability right now, thats sick enough.
Also, MHSSS is about $1k less, not like thats a factor but is the extra worth it? Will the learning curve be better at WIndels because of the air bag they have?
Any comments on people's views on either camp would be appreciated. Gonna be booking one of em in the coming weeks.
Thanks
Lee

MHSSC is great if your focused on only the mountain and skiing aspect. Windells on the other hand is absolutely rediculous. The campus that they have is insane. Skateparks, tramps, foam pits, stores, dryslope, dirt jumps, MTB trails, bag jumps, and more. Plus you get a shit ton of swag. if your okay with paying a lot more i would say windells is the better choice. Even though MHSSC's park is also good windells' is definatly better

i didnt write this, but its from the other thread and basically sums up everything you need to know. written by stormtrooper:
Coaching:
Windells your kind of on your own for learning things.
MHSSC coaches will help you alot and help you achieve your goals more.
Windells how ever does have Pro's though which is kinda of cool to be seeing them all around you.

Parks:
Windells park is of course bigger.
But MHSSC has basically everything windells has jump whise with the exception of a massive step over.
Windells has alot of rails basically all think able.
MHSSC also has alot of rails with exception of a flat down and a whale tale, But MHHSC will rebuild things in there park to cater to campers, like for example if u want an easy way to learn 360 switch ups they will set you up say a fatty up down box.
Windells has the air bag.

Pipes:
Windells does have there own pipe but you usual get up to the mountain late and the pipe is slush destroyed.
MHSSC use's the public pipe, which is equally good to windells if not better. How ever if you are really interested in riding pipe MHSSC ofers an early morning shuttle to the moutain so you can get on it befor it gets to slushy.
MHSSC also has its own quarter pipe.

Campus:
Windells has a full skate park and BMX course.
MHSSC has a mini pipe, and a big pipe along with skate rails.
Windells has 6-8 computers to use
MHSSC has 2 computers use.
Windells rooms have bunk beds and TV's.
MHSSC has Bunk beds.
Windells has shred sleds.
MHSSC has pogo sticks.
MHSSC has an adventure course.
Windells has tramps and foam pits.
MHSSC has tramps and throw pads.

Food:
Windells has good food.
MHSSC has great food.
Windells, when thirsty and its not breakast or dinner u have to buy very over priced drinks.
MHSSC has a free fountain drink machine open 24/7
Windells, when hungry and its not one of the times to eat, they have vending machines and the snack bar which is also over priced.
MHSSC, there is a gas station really near that you can go to and get food for a normal price.

Other Activitys:
Both camps have rafting and paint balling
MHSSC has swimming at the lake and cliff diving.
People:
Windells, has alot of im better than you.
MHSSC, everyone is there to improve and have a good time.
Windells, there will be kids there who are there basically for a day care.
MHSSC, meet alot of people.
Windells, meet a fair amount of people.
MHSSC, has some good looking racer girls
Windells, has some good looking freestyle girls.
Windells, something gets stolen your outa luck.
MHSSC, something gets stolen, which never happens, ur counselor will get it back some how.

Transportation:
Windells vans suck to have to sit in the back.
MHSSC has short buses so seating is alot easier.
Both blast pretty good music.

Should of checked the search field. This is an old question,
Seems like Windels has abit of hype about it, maybe just.
Swaying towards MHSSC now.
Thanks for the link.

last year i went for sessions 5 and 6 last year and had so much fun. i skied a total of 11 days compared to the 8 that one spends at windells. by far one of the best experiences i have had. the mhssc park has the best down rail on the mountain, the best flat rail on the mountain, and the best jumps on the mountain and we get to ski public park. the coaches are the best and overall the camp is about improving yourself. lots of stuff to do after skiing and has a way better tramp than windells. if you want to go to mount hood for kids to tell you how much better they are than you and follow pros around all day then this camp isnt for you.
But I don't have a corvet"

I went to windells last summer and despite what a lot of what ive heard people say here there isnt a lot of condescending "im better than you" attitude, everybody there is super supportive no matter what level you are but that might have just been cause I was will an older (16-18 year old) group.

If you wanna learn something specific, your coach(pro) will help you. Most of them are really chill and will care more about your skiing than their own while theyre with you. Also the campus is the definition of fun, theres so much to do. I've never been to MHSSC so i cant say anything about that but if you want to know more about windells and my experience there just pm me.

ok i know a shit ton of pros are at windells in the summer. But say you go to mhssc, can you still like meet them and stuff? They lap the public park and Windells right?

yea, the pros are riding through public park, and our private park, even if they are working at windells, they come kikit on windells off days. Our coaches are familiar with most pros in the industry, so if your jittery to meet some pro skias, you will meet them.

one funny story was when one of our campers, who is now a counselor in training, had a bad crash, broke his eye socket, and got knocked out, tanner hall was riding our park. Malone asked thall to come talk to this camper cuz he just had a gnarly crash. knocked out, just after he talked to thall, the camper asked his buddies "was that tanner hall?"just thought that was kinda funny.

How is the tramp better at MHSSC? Do you jump higher or what? Cuz the flybeds at windells look like $$$

the beds are nicer so it bounces you higher.. there is no ceiling to run in to, there are no other kids bouncing on a trampoline right next to you... there aren't walls to run into right next to it pretty much 4 feet in all directions from the tramp is padded, I would also assume less kids at the mhssc tramp....

i felt this exact same way... i was talking to a kid right after i threw my first 3 with a grab and he was stoked then proceded to say that he got a 7 on the 60 footer... everyone is stoked to ski. i didnt meet 1 kid that cared about skill level. your all there to have fun. period.

our tramp technically is the exact same, but the way it is setup is flush with the ground, 6 gym mats going all the way around it, its outside...and we have a throw pad. you can effortlessly jump pretty hi

Other then talking mad shit I'll just point out a few points on What Windells has.

Windells has three airbags, the negative feed back regarding the airbags are more then likely coming from individuals that have never hit one or is out of touch. And if you have hit one then it surely wasn't a bag Jump airbag.

Windells has a park that extends over a mile long, No other camp has this in North America during the summer months.

Windells has three lifts that access Windells parks.

Windells is host to many of the best skiers in the World.

Windells has dry slopes on campus where you can session rails and jumps.

Windells offers BMX, roller skating, scooters and wiggle sticks.

Windells coaches do video review every afternoon and despite what some of you say you do learn at Windells. This is obviouse if you watch events like the X-games, Dew Tour, Rev Tours, Open events and watch videos live Poor Boyz and Level One.

Having fun and learning works.

Windells is a freestyle camp.

Windells has Olympic Tramps.

Windells has foam pits.

Pro skiers from around the world live, hang, film and ski at Windells.

You can sit down and eat three meals a day with the best skiers in the World.

Their is no comparison between the two camps other then in one camp you half to hike where as the other you do not. i would think that is something every potential camper should understand. Hiking in 70 to 80 degree weather in ski boots is really not that fun. How-ever it is summer time and their is snow.

B&E filmed in our park when you were gone too. The intro shot in Muddy Winter where B-dog is doing the lazyboy surface front up is from our park, as are a lot of the shots from hood. They filmed in our park a surprising amount considering they were officially there with Windell's.
