Messed mount job...!! yea another one...lol

yea i just got in my 177 gold line chronics...so sick!!..they def

can hold up for me and have plenty of flex and the ollieband is

sick...works good...made sick skis..But I got em mounted and they

fucked it up...g shoulda saw it comin..lol...I even said to one of the guys to mount em trie and i put tape on them where i wanted it and wrote true center on it..they mounted at suggested

mount thats on the skis...where the little arrow is on it..Its not bad but I wanna try and ride true

center...so they will remount for free...fuckers...lol..what u

think..true center or 1 cm back from true? I know its gonna be harder to learn but thats part of anything and skiin..u know...let me know your guys thoughts..Cuz Im prob goin tommarow Jay PEak again and get em remounted...thanx..Justin

I think that all that bold hurted my eyes! Oh yeah, what do you ski? Is this your all park ski. If its all park, True centre, if its all mnt, -1 or -2 of true centre.

yea your right...lol...so should i leave it or do true..?? I want to badd...i mean i do ride some poww but oh well ill get used to it...i quess gonna have to lean back alot...lol

i dont know it doesnt look like it to me..not close to center...i have the 04-05 ones..and i ride 50park, 50rest...but my cuz is gettin the invaders i was gonna get and he oviously is mountin center mount and he just started park like me and he rides 50 50 too..so idk..i was thinkin that -1 from true center....hmmmm

sorry guys with the bold...yea i do use lol alot..sorry bout that too..ya it i remount then i just do true center dont need them messin up again..less complicated..oh and this will be my 3rd mount..they were mounted once before i got em now today snd then the 3rd is gonna be the remount for center..

factory mount for the chronic is like 5.5cm back from center i believe.. personally i would never ride the chronic dead center b/c i simply dont need that much stiff tail.

2-3 back is pretty good but i think you will do fine if you leave them at factory, doesnt matter that much

Believe it or not a lot of research goes into a recommended mounting point. The flex of a ski is usually based around the recommended mounting point so that you are able to perform the best with it. Sure there are a lot of people who center mount but not even pros do it that often. They are usually at least 1 or 2 cm back from the center because not everyone is a park rat. If you want to ski pretty much anything other than park than center mount probably isn't the best. Your skis will be quite squirrelly anywhere else and the flex is messed up. Personally I would just leave it, especially if u are getting invaders for your park skis.

yeah thats pretty far back..i think...looks it..yea idk..I just would like more tail on them to learn switch makes it easier..and its fun...so yea maybe true is alot of tail..dont know...maybe then ill do 1.5 back or 2 back from true..that will move the bindings up like 4.5 to 4cm from the 5.5 u mentioned..

Ok....lesson time kids. On ANY nonsemetrical ski centre mounting is SHIT. Screws the turning radius, flex, switch skiing, pretty much the whole ski. When you have a ski with a that is nonsemetrical the flex, camber, turning radius is all design with that mounting point in mind. When you centre mount that these kinds of skis well it will ski like crap, all stability will be gone, screw your skiing position, and hurt your knees. Unless you are a near pro status, or these are rail only skis you never need to centre mount, or have bindings with out risers. At that skill level you will never notice.

Same thing with tiny kids with huge skis. I think that is the most stupid thing ever. Kids seeing pros with long skis thinking they will do better with huge skis. Im 180 lbs/6 1 and 176 cms is perfect for a park ski.

that was some good info man thanx...yea..i think im not gonna do true center and tell the shop guys to do 1.5 or 2cm back from true..what do u think that would be better..better ridin but still closer so i have lil more tails..oh and im not ridin the invaders my cuzin is gettin em..im gonna be to big to ride those cuz the flex..

thanx matman...yea alot of that helped too..yea that stuff is true..lol..idk I rode 171 and i am 5'9 and 225 and rode good...but i got the 177 chronics..not to bad ill get used to em..yea would me mounten them 2cm back from true be a lil better and it wont mess it up a whole lot...

I'm on 187 chronic wides, and I mounted them 3cm back from true center and they ride fine... They're my park skis though. I would think that anything less than 3 back would make the ski ski like shit. As it is, it sometimes skis really sloppily when icy. If I were you, I'd leave them at recommended, you'll have enough tail for switch and you'll have enough bite to ski all mountain perfectly.

how bout u go fuck yourself....wtf u doin in here bashin on me...damn...and for your info..its mostly mucsle...lol....damn people r ignorant...u can end this post now...or whatever idc...

ending such a pissed off reply about what i just said with 'i dont care' is a rather contradictory way to go about responding to something.

so i just dropped my skis off to be mounted the 07 troublemakers.... i asked for 1 cm back from true... did i make a mistake i can still call and tell them otherwise??

again the invaders arent mine...so i dont have a park ski...it sucks its the 3rd mount if i do it again..the other guy at the shop freeskis too and he said ittle be ok for it..since there soo thick and strong..plus i know they wont sell after 3 mounts but i dont plan on sellin them after i get new skis next yr..ill keep em since there rare..so if i dont keep the recommend mount.. im not goin so far forward ill do -2.5 from true..3cm up from the recommended mount point..if its 5.5 like u guys said..its inbeetween recommented and true..so wont mess to much of the flex and riding up..then itlle be good everywhere..on the mountain and park and rails.

hey im about to feel your pain to :) when i dropped mine off to be mounted at 1 cm back from true the guy was like "are you serious" with this dumb look on his face like hes nvever mounted a ski before..... im kinda scared they are going to fuck up or he just heard me wrong :(

lol yea bro i know what ya mean...i hope yours come out ok..if not..fuck em all..lol..i think ill mount mine again its not gonna kill em to mount a 3rd time..i think they ride the same..there soo thick..so they should be good..i hope..gonna do -3 back from true..better then the 5.5 its at right now..to far i think..who knows..

seriously its only one centemeter. stop bitching and go skiing.

you could have spent all that time learning how to ride switch, so then there would be a point to obsess about center mounting as much as you NOOBs

yep i read it hope it works out bro..i think im goin back and having them mount them -3 from true should be perfect for everything`..so does anyone no for sure what the recommended is on the chronics? someone said 5.5 back from true if so ill tell them +2.5 from recommnded..aight thanx..let me know peace

haha when i read the bold I picture someone screaming it to me in my head. didn't read teh whole thread so you may have already done somethin, but if not go 1 back.

I bet your jelous. Any pants he buys are tight no matter what. Yeah, that was a tight pant shot......

oh man that one hurt...you dont know the struggle i have to go through as a tall skinny person to find tight pants in this world that demands bagginess.

youve hurt me in more ways than you will ever know. i shall go kill myself now and fulfill my emo lifestyle.

1) you ski jay peak. you dont need a center mounted ski. its not gonna make a difference in learning things in the park. get over it. go ski some woods.

2) the ski has already been mounted twice. the chances of you actually being able to have it mounted exactly where you want are slim. you have to leave at least 1cm between the older holes and the new ones youre gonna drill. a third mount is not great for the ski, especially if you havent even skied it yet. leave it where it is now.
