Mental block on a trick. help?

pre season i was at my friends house hitting his setup and i went for a front switchup on his rail and fell. there was a screwhead sticking out of the rail and i cut my knee open on it and ended up getting 11 stitches. my issue now is i have a total mental block on front switchups on rails. i can do them on boxes no problem but i freeze up on rails. i pretty much just do blind switchups on rails now and it is limiting my skiing. how do i get over it? i hesitate everytime i go for them on a rail, picturing myself cutting my leg open again. any ideas or is it somehting i just have to try and get over.

pretty nasty i know

Instead of smoking try doin a couple shots or a few brews before haha, it'll loosen you up so you don't think about getting injured again. More confidence with tricks just like mackin on bitties.

As long as you're not like under 16 or somethin

(Don't get hammered though)

Yeah, you just have to do it Asa, you know you can do them no problem... Just don't think about it, next saturday you'll owe me 50 cents every time you hit a rail without trying a fs switchup until you try. Then you'll be able to do them again.

Disclaimer: This isn't my fault.

disclaimer:

you built the rail and left a screw head sticking out to destroy my knee. i think you owe me 50 cents for every one i do do. incentive

there goes my dinner. excuse me while i grab a rag to wipe off the puke that just accumulated on my keyboard.

wear knee pads or something. just protect whatever part of the body you are worried about injuring. then when you do them without falling and get your confidence back out, stop wearing knee pads or whatever.

Before you try it on rails, inspect the rail to make sure there aren't any screws, machetes, or eagles' talons sticking out of it, and then hit it on the next run. Just knowing it's not going to do that to your knee again will probably help.

oh damn i remember the FB pics of the stitches. gnarly man. oh and just go for it. you will find that you can do it fine once you just do it

unless the rails your scared to front switch up on all have sketchy screws sticking out I'm not sure what you're worried about

dude really?

i was fucking eating when i clicked on this thread and now im about to yack. get out of my life.

its simple, just huck it and commit once and you're golden. if you can't get your head around that then maybe learning new tricks isn't for you. its only a front swap, whats the worst that could happen?
