Megaupload.com- Legit or not?

I've seen a lot of things hosted by Megaupload, (including that new thread about movies, thats what made me make this thread) and I wanna get some stuff. However, I have the McAfee SiteAdivisor thing and it says Megaupload can be a bad site. What I wanna know is if it puts viruses or spyware and stuff like that on your computer.

Sparknotes: Does Megaupload have clean downloads or not?
 
Megaupload.com is legit as hell but megavideo is gay as shit because it makes you take a break from watching a movie after 78 minutes.
 
that pissed me off so much when i was injured and could just lie in bed on my laptop.

if you let the whole video load though and then go work offline it dosent count up the minutes
 
It's legit, but don't download their toolbars, I've heard bad things about them. It is not owned by the same company as Rapidshare though. Last time I checked, Megaupload is owned by a Japanese company and I know for sure that Rapidshare is owned by a German company.
 
it seems legit

but whenever i go there i get like 8 popups from adultfriendfinder, which is kind of annoying

unless you're looking to get some from random chicks TONITE in your area, in which case, go for it
 
haha i was kinda thinkin that as i was writing. but then i was like fuck it, i already wrote it so whatever.
 
its as legit as what people upload to it, no?

if someone uploads a virus, and you download it well...

but if someone uploads some music then you're cool.

the site itself seems to be alright, or at least it always has been for me. just don't download those toolbars, as said above.
 
yes, pretty much. I haven't ran into any problems with it so far. use it like you would use any other website online.
