Measureing to Mount

Well it's time for me to take my skis in to get mounted. I've read some horror stories about shops messing up the mount. Over and over again people have said to draw a line were you want them mounted and make it clear to the tech that that is were it needs to be mounted. This I plan on doing but I'm unsure of how to correctly messure. The skis that I'll be mounting are a pair of 07 Line Elizabeths and I want to mount them -2cm from TRUE center. What is the correct way to go about measure so the shop tech has no excuse to screw it up?

i suppose if you really wanted to be sure you could just measure the entire ski, determine where the midpoint is and then back it up 2 cm and break out a black magic marker and tell them that's where you want it.

Just measure tip to tip, take 1/2 (172/2 = 86 unless its different than the actual length) then measure back 2 cm.

Another way is to get to know your shop guys. When i get my skis mounted i alway go pull out my binders and boots and set them up on the ski how i want them and show the shop guys to make sure they know. I've measured a mounting point with them too. It's all about showing the actual person who is mounting them whats going on and not having some shit head high school kid write it down on a sheet of paper.

^^ that.

Also I think when you measure center you should measure where the ski meets the ground on both sides, but if they tips are the same I assume you'll be fine. Since it's Elizabeths you could just wait for someone to tell you how far the line is back from true center since it's a pretty popular ski I'm sure someone knows for sure already. Also I think Al's Ski barn, if they have any Elizabeths pick the drop down menus to get them mounted, and for mounting points I know they have "+X (true center)" as a choice, along with standard and what-not.

I'm pretty sure the recommended line is 2cm back. Check Line's site for the specs, or Pollard might talk about it on the video.

Thanks for the advice. I measured both tip to tail and the length that the ski touches to ground, it turned out to be the same. I checked both untracked.com and the Line site and there wasn't any info. Oh and according to what I measured suggested is 3.5 cm back from true center.

i work in a shop and for people to mess a mount up seems ridiculkous. all you need to do is take a tape measure from tip to tail find core center. mark it , measure two cm back and put a permanent mark there. and tell them specifically at the mark u made which will make less room for error than just going in and saying 2cm back from core

Thats what I have done. I dropped the skis off today to get them mounted so hopefully everything gows smoothly.
