I was just up at one of my local mountains for a pre season jib sesh and I've never felt so much hate in my life. Some kid's think there like god's gift to the mountains or some shit like that. When you see a fellow skier come introduce yourself, I think people have forgotten that we all love the same sport or something. I went up to this kid and started talking to him and being chill i have never seen a more surprised person in my life it's like the guy had never met another skier on the mountain, we shake hands, made a new friend for the season. It's not that haaard folks just dont be fuckin gay be cool theres no reason for you to be acting like a tough guy. mean mugging = bad vibe and no friends, being outgoing and chill like the good old days = great vibe know everybody.

Maybe this is just around where I live but come on guys chill out.
 
i'd love having people come up to me an talking to me. I don't know a single person around where i live who skis...
 
for real...

were all there to have a good time and enjoy a sport that we love and people gotta be hatin for no reason.

i personally love seein/meetin new people or seein a NS sticker on a pair of skis or a helmet and talkin to them. its part of our sport, were a community of skiers tryin to push the boundaries and take our sport further. i mean come on, you dont see eric or pep or andy or any of those guys bein jerks. they seem like the most rad, chill guys to ride wit ever!!!!
 
exactly, why wouldnt you want to meet someone who does the same sport as you? It's fucking gay, I don't know why people think there super 'cool' by standing there and acting all tough i've noticed no good skiers do this, it's just mediocre or shitty ones, probably because they want people to think that there spancercized, but for one thing no one care's if your sponsored just other shitty skiers and two people will just get bad vibes and react to you in a negative way. I'm pretty sure that was the least grammatically correct run-on sentence I've ever written...

i love goin up to people and sayin hi, hell i met this one guy (+Jamilton+) met him on one chairlift ride and now we hang everysummer.

although i met this one group of people who werent the chillest people and were kinda dicks...

...that wasn't fun tryin to talk to em at all...

i completely agree. its hard enough to find skiers in the first place. i hate it when people act like there the shit and are just dicks. im always outgoing and friendly to people
 
yea dude i met a couple cool kids out there, most people were fuckin rad but there were just a couple kids that really got to me with there lack of social skills.
 
im stoked people feel the same way on this.

i have a good story like that too man. i was just in whis one day last year and i really wanted to learn lincolns. so i'm just standing there trying to get balls to do one and i look up at (i think his names cheechsander) on here and im like man can you do lincolns? ya sorta... I think im gonna try one got any tips? ya man just throw your ear to your shoulder and commit. sick, landed it. then im just like yo who you skiing with? just solo today. Cool man you wanna ski with me? met a new real good friend that day.
 
word. thats whats great about our sport, and other sports like it. that sorta skatepark/terrain park community. everyone tries to help everyone else.
 
i mean skiing is awesome and everything, but the friends you ski with and the new friends you meet WHILE skiing are pretty much what make it so great...without that whole aspect, skiing would kinda suck

not to do the whole "back in the day" routine...but remember like 6 years ago? anyone who had twintips was instantly your friend. I'd be stoked to see another skier in the park...it was so much friendlier. now it's way different. people are pretty unfriendly generally. a few days last year i was skiing alone in the park and tried to just be friendly with people so i could ski around with some people, you know? people thought i was a crazy person.
 
yea dude its cool to pull that back in the day card cause i know exactly what you mean. Skiing trembs growing up you could just be like hey your skiing park no way me too lets fuckin ski together. now its all like 'im gonna try and act like im the best skier here, im too good to talk to anyone here'. fuckin waaaack
 
The majority of the people ive met up in my area are all usualy pretty chill and down to earthand arent afraid to come up to you and say whatsup, lots of people on ns too, but there is always the occasional snow board bros who hate on everyone and snake in the lift line, but watever
 
i kinda noticed that in cali man, everyones super chill. I was at a smaller mountain today in bc thats probably why, you get get all your little 'crews' and whatnot. i wasnt really being mean mugged at all just some chill kids i'd talked to before wanted to hit this rail i was seshing with this other group of kids and they literally told them they weren't allowed... i couldnt fuckin believe it.
