Meadows vs Fusion vs BC

Hey everybody, I'm new here to Portland and just trying to firgure out what means of shredding is the best bang for your buck and in general the funnest terrain.

I'm looking for cliffs and lines and stepdowns more then rails and jumps. However, I also would like to avoid large lift lines that I'm heard are frequent at Meadows.... is Meadows the way to go or would the Fusion (Ski Bowl and T Line) Pass be better.

Or should I just save money and hike lines and build jumps in the nearby bc. and on that note, where are some good areas to go play around at?

Are you planning to ski on the weekends only? If not, meadows lift lines are not bad at all during the week. Meadows has a weekday only pass thats 100 bucks less.

the kind of terrain you want at Meadows lines aren't really that bad of an issue. The biggest shitshow is the main lodge area. S&R cliffs and Private Reserve don't require you to navigate that mess. If you can afford an extra 250 then a ski bowl night pass (any day after 3) is good to have. During the week you can get first tracks at Meadows and Ski Bowl if you play it right.

Just expect to ski when it's storming to really get the goods. Nights at Meadows, and Ski bowl can really deliver when it's nuking.

all of what had been said is kind of true.. but I have had passes to both and let me just say this:

Meadows had great terrain but its fuckin crowded with gapers who "wanna ski doub blacks".. Heather's canyon is cool.. but you could also get a T-line Ski bowl Pass.. and ski bowl is awesome (when the snow happens).. but ALSO.. T line has awesome hikeable side country.. many many canyons to be had and plenty of legit places to build step ups/downs etc.. there are some sweet cornices... and then there is the added benefit of serious lack of people in the winter season and also a nice park.. That being said it is truly a flat place.. and if you are going to hike anyways you can just use touring bindings and get to where you need to be in that manner... but I think it is cool when Palmer or Mile is open and you can just traverse out and shred some steep lines and then cut back into T-line and do it again.. or ski 3 miles down to Govy (which can also tend to be flat at a certain point)

Anyways I hope that helped.. Oh yah.. and if you are going to work at a resort.. I would recommend Tline.. cause then you can buy a ski bowl pass for really cheap and then you could save your money and buy a meadows pass and have all 3.. which is perfect.

hope that helps and have fun! mt hood is fucking awesome!

The best part is that either way you go. "spring" passes are usually good starting March 1st, and they are only around 100 bucks, and are good usually till about mid-may. That's still a fuck ton of skiing season left around these parts.

This year is going to be a ridiculous snow season, so pretty much any pass you get will give you stokes. You can get a meadows pass and shred park/pow all day and night and hop on the spring pass at timberline at the end of march somewhere for a super good deal of a little over 100 bucks and it lasts you up until summer starts (June 1st), or you can just get a fusion from the starting. Being completely honest T line is really wack for any sort of shredding besides park and jibbing, and ski bowl has its rare but amazing days so its overall a roll of the dice, you can get good days anywhere on hood. Either way youve got a warm welcome to Oregon!!! JAH!
