What exactly would you call your music then. Garage band beats with sub par rapping? My ears bleed everytime I hear one of these shitty ass songs.
 
I don't think a lot of the younger ns members have any idea how influential Jon McMurray was to the sport. If his music isn't your thing then boohoo, don't listen to it. Music is a personal thing and not everyone will enjoy every artists no matter how talented they are. No reason to be hating on a guy who did a lot for the sport. Can't believe how classless some people get when then are hiding behind a keyboard, show some respect.
 
Fuck all the hate (as always on ns). McMurry was doing some of the craziest shit back before half you kids on here were born. Hot girls, ridiculous stunts and sick skiing... i really don't get whats to hate on. You kids jizz over scrawny white kids from the urbs who throw gang signs in there tall tees(not hating i wear one too), but hate hard as soon as your are presented with someone who actually might have experienced the culture everyone on this site is copying. yea the music isn't really my style but neither is 90% of the crap you kids put in your edits these days.
I highly respect Jon simply for all the shit he has witnessed, and even more now that I see he is able to look back with a passive non-hateful attitude.

I used to love watching him back in the day doing super crazy shit on skis or jumping off something huge on land. He was definitely and inspiration for people of that "era" so to speak, by showing them what was possible on skis. Now I may not be a huge fan of his music, but i certainly can respect him for his decision to move on to it. It's obviously something that he's passionate about and there's really no need to bring all the hate, it's extremely disrespectful.

If this is so, I have more respect for the guy. I didn't like his music first off, but then saw his remarks in various threads.. The "you were great sucking my dick last night, baby" got old really quick. Especially coming from someone I assumed was a grown man.
 
His segment in Focused is one of my favourite ski segments ever, was the first time I saw someone flipping off a rail. I have more respect for him as a skier than I do for even people like Wallisch and Harlaut. I've known about him and watched him ski long before I knew about NS. I can even pinpoint the year: 2003. I've been on NS since 2005 (not a member, but still browsing the forums pics/vids etc).

But saying this is why I should respect his music is a bit wrong. It's like saying "if you respect Magic Johnson as a basketball player, you should also respect the fact he gave aids to so many people". Bit of an extreme example but it's along the same lines.

Saying that I am doing free advertising for LCP would imply that they actually have a future in rapping hence the need for advertising. However, they have no future in the hip-hop industry...
