I am thinkin about buyin the album but i dont know how it will be, I liked Live at Stubb's but I cant decide wether to spend the money on Youth. Can someone tell me how it compares with his other CD?
 
i fucking love this album just bought it on itunes.. fucking sick.. and his beatbox video... holy shit this guy can beat box

its really weak, in my opinion. much better dancehall you could be listening to.
 
i'll be honest i'm a huge matis fan, but this album is def weak, its like indie rock with minimal reggae undertone and it even gets techno-ish at sometimes - the best songs on this cd are - time of your song - jerusalem - indestructable. but if your fan of matis you might as well pick it up anyways. or just download it.
 
Youth fucking sucks the biggest balls ever, I can't even listin to it. Matisyahu should never do a studio recorded produced record, because he is sooo amazing live, Youth does no justice to his wonderfull voice and just kills the vibe by mixing in pop-ish production.
 
I'm off to see him next Saturday, and I think there's a reason the dude can play at most of the festivals this summer. He's interesting and quite amazing live. Totally tears up the mic, has a bit of jam in there, and beatboxes and mixes all of it together to create a hell of a show. As far as Youth goes, I was pretty disappointed in it, but... it is also pretty much what I expected, also. Shake off the Dust..Arise is an amazing album, though. I just hope he does at least half old/half new songs for his set list on the 18th.
 
He's a White Jew. Am I the only one who thinks thats funny? I totally thought he was this black dude from Jamaica at first.
 
haha, yes. this is why im pretty worried to see the interesting crowd when i see him on saturday. it'll be like warped tour has gone... from true people to watered down "i heard this song on mtv" people.. but he'll still toss down a sick show, so.. its all good.
 
ive been listening to this dude since the summer and i told a few of my friends about him and we have all been listening to him.. then all of a sudden this girl hears him on mtv and is like OMG THIS GUY IS AMAZINGG so she gets us all tickets to go see him this coming sunday the 19th... im hoping the show isnt fille dwith people who have JUST heard him on mtv..
