Hey im a minnesota rider and it looks like im moving up to NMU and riding marquette all winter. I know all the hype about marquette but just give me a straight up answer about how good it really is. Big kickers? pipe? rail set ups? How about urbans around town? I know there is a kick ass scene up there just give me the low down. Also if anyone goes to NMU gimmie some feed back on the school. Thanks Midwest rep

you are imperfect.....

dude, marquette does get a lot of talk but they back it up for sure. Park groomed every night, rider built shit only. Shelby grooms and then kills everything there. 80 ft kickers to 50 ft kickers, so smooth, like you never left the ground most of the time. No pipe or a pretty poor one but with all the jibs, massive wallride, massive jumps and comps and badass riders I say you have a lot to look forward to. Enjoy.

when people say best park in the midwest they mean it. huge jumps, no pipe as of last year, sick rails, when i was there in the middle of the week it was perfectly groomed.... i will be going to nmu too man

we have a pipe dragon, but its like the orignal one, so it sucks dick and cant cut a good pipe, so why waste the snow... And yes, it is the best park in the midwest, hands down. We have a reeaallllll tight crew, and everyone skis with each other, no hatin. Urban is alright, Ive pretty much hit everything last year, so this year were going to Houghton/Hancock area for urban and shit. But overall, its a really sick place to live and ski. NMU isnt too bad, just make sure to take 12 credits in the winter.

skiing sucks

As these three jokers have said Marquette lives up to it's name as best park in the Midwest. The rails are perfectly set up, the jumps are cut to perfection, and the vibe is like nowhere else. The city of Marquette as Mikael Reed affably mentioned is also quite enjoyable. I will be traveling northward(formerly ninthward) to go surfing/skateboarding in Marquette in a matter of days. This reminds me, the UP was mentioned in Surf magazine as having some of the best surfing in the midwest. Ish!

A couple of us drove 12 hours up to super park to see what the hype was all about. Definately was worth the build up(at least what i saw during super park) i dont know how the park is setup normally.
