Marker vs Pivot

I've been skiing look pivots for a few years now and over the course of each pair they like to break down and the breaks, construction, and overall tightness. all these decay from park skiing in general. Im thinking of switching over to marker for my next pair of skis and i want some opinions on Marker users.

So.. anything?

Sounds like you are just really hard on your gear! Wish I was so badass that I could break my bindings...

My pivots are pretty solid. Hard to imagine marker being much more durable but maybe the brakes are at least easier to replace.

Pivots have better overall durability I think. The big plus with markers is if you mess up a lot of brakes the replacement is a lot easier.

If you want your bindings to last, don't switch up on markers. The toe piece will start wobbling and I haven't had a pair that would have last through several pairs of skis like my pivots. So stick with what's good..

So for me I have nothing bad to say about markers. It's all I've ever used and have had zero problems I have griffions jesters and jester pros. I've got friends who have pivots and they don't like them that much. Theyve had alot of problems with the brakes. thats my two cents. Take it for what it's worth.

I used look px 12's on my Armada AR7's for two years and never had any issues. They always kept me locked in when i didnt want to come out of them. This year i got a new pair of Line Chronic's with marker griffons. So far ive had no durability issues or pre release incidents. However, im assuming im not as hard on my bindings as you are. But bottom line you can't go wrong with some markers (from my personal experience).

I had marker Griffons basically no issue except for a little wobble in toe piece, skied them for 2 seasons had great durability for me, my friend got a pair this year, skied them a total of 6 days and broke 2 pairs of brakes already, I now have fks(same as pivots) and love them no complaints, anyways if you break pivots I guarantee you'll break markers

I'd suggest you take a look at the Atomic/Salomon STH2 13/16's. They're very durable and the brakes are much better than the FKS/Pivot brakes (and cheaper). Overall just a great sturdy binding.

What do you mean deterioration on construction and tightness? If your forward pressure is right, there shouldn't be any looseness. Other than the half moons ive never heard of the heels breaking.

if the pivots don't seem to be cutting it

for you, try some attack 16s or sth 2 16s.

The pivots get will get wiggly and loose with no boot in them. But when you click your boot in they are as solid as day one.

Only downside to the pivots vs the STH/Griffen/Attack is that you cant adjust them for your boot soles wearing down.
