Marker Jester, FKS?

So I broke my STH2 bindings at the heel where the pins connect to the , and the skis they were attached to also. So now I need to figure out what bindings to get. There's the tried and true FKS, or the lighter Jester, and the new Attack series also, don't really hear to much about those

So the FKS will probably last a while, especially with the special heel piece, but it lacks adjustability

The Griffon can be adjusted but I've never ridden griffon extensively, that said they seemed alright when I demo'd them, but no idea how durable they are.

My thought: If your current boot fits you somewhat well, you're not going to be changing BSL very much for a while also in my experience FKS 18/155 last longer than most skis anyway, so lack of adjustability is a non issue unless you're looking to share skis with friends. What to get is up to you though.

Yeah no plans to change boot, just got foot beds for them so they fit perfect now and I'm committed to them. Really the FKS are cheaper and better built which I suppose answers my own question

How/whwere did the STH2 brake? First i've heard of someone breaking them. I'd assume you could warranty

If you go to a different binding I vote FKS180

get the fks you won't regret it. I'm fortunate enough to work in a shop, so I've seen all these bindings under different levels of abuse, and you definitely want the FKS unless you need adjustability. ( it sounds like you don't though.)

FKS for lyfe. Ive been riding on them a long time and they stand up to an absolute thrashing. Interesting this is the first thread with FKS vs Marker that Ive seen so far that hasn't already turned into a turf war between the two sides in the first 3 comments

FKS are shit get jesters

That was for you Wingmen

But seriously, I have broken 4 half moon baseplates, 3 in the past 4 days of riding, I have broken the heel track to 2 different models, both in around 20 days of riding, both having the same exact damage in the same exact place, and I have messed up the toes of the 14s which are pretty good and fucked. that said, Get them.

They are by far the most durable binding, aside from the 916s from Solly and the Old peak series tyrolias, but they work the best IMO. You will love the feel and performance you get, and unless you got your scissor game on lock with shit like 2 pretz 4 or bswap bs 4, you won't have pre release.

With that said, Nothing wrong with Jesters. I know some people who went too hard for the 18s and had to get jester pros since they dont pre release horizontally as easily. these Kids slay rails like nobodies business. Realistically, it is a matter of preference and feel. bindings have pros and cons, including the FKS and its only con is NOT only the brakes. with that in mind, I once again agree, get the FKS. you will probably not be at the level where you need to worry about an 18 din binding pre releasing on you alot, so I think you should be good.

I just tore my ACL in my Jesters... It was in a situation where they totally should have released. I vote FKS/Pivot

Thats what happens when you ride a binding with no vertical release function in the toe.
