Marker Dukes

So I'm getting Armada TSTs and I'm trying to decide what to mount on them. I'd like to get into the backcountry/slackcountry this winter and was entertaining the idea of getting the Dukes. How do they feel compared to a traditional alpine binding? My original plan was to put Jesters on, but if they feel pretty similar I'd like to have the ability to skin. For what it's worth I'd probably be skiing 75% Snowbird & Canyons, 25% slackcountry/backcountry. Any advice is appreciated...

If you like the Jesters you will be stoked on the Duke. They climb really well and from what I have seen they are pretty durable.

well first of all inb4 Balto...

I hav yet to tour with my dukes, but the performance so far is great on the downhill. really solid and not as heavy as I imagined...

It's the way to go if you're looking for a alpine binding that can climb too.

You always hear people complaining about the bindings ripping about, but personally I just think they should go to a normal ski shop to get theirs mounted.

The only downside is the weight I guess. They're heavier than a touring binding or normal binding because they're two in one.

Thanks for the responses, guys. So what I'm gathering is that it wouldn't feel much if any different underfoot than a Jester or traditional Marker?

There's not big difference. The biggest differences between the two are weight and boot height. The height is due to the bottom connecting piece that allows you to "walk." It's actually not a huge difference, but is noticeable. As mentioned, the weight is more, but it's very manageable.

I love the Jesters and the Dukes and have no complaints. The Dukes are solid flying downhill and climbing uphill.

I love my jesters and like my dukes. there is an obvious difference on duke compaired to jesters much higher. I dont ski the resort on my touring skis for that reason alone. check out marker tours

i ride my large marker dukes on armada jjs everyday and they are fantasticone of the best downhill bindings i've ever been on witht he ability to climb.

i want to go to there...
