Marker developing new "KING" tech binding....

I'm not sure about super bugly I think it's more them trying to make a tech binding which can be ridden inbounds safely. I may be wrong I'd be interested to know what onenerdy knows about them.

Check out TGR, there's been a decent amount of chatter over there about it... But I'm not sure why everyone is *SO* jacked up at the mere mention of a Marker Low Tech binding. There have been many entries and we have infinitely more details for just about every one of them, so it's curious to me that it's built such up such a buzz so quickly.

I mean, I'm stoked on the premise too but I can't get my tits in a tizzy until I see some concrete shit personally.

I think the buzz is because its a large established brand. Whenever dynafit for example release something the amount of testing involved is no where near as big as say marker or atomic could do. Therefore issues are much more common place. However when was the last time an alpine binding really failed in its first season? It's this sort of reputation tht I think makes these new tech bindings interesting. Also the fact that they are addressing issues which has prevented tech being more wildly excepted is exciting and could lead to some really good developments over the next few years.

Honestly, I know as much as you guys. Heard about it (and the basics of it) over a year ago but the only new detail is what was posted on Wild Snow about it passing the TÜV testing. Until pictures come out, we're all on the same page now it seems.

How does it compare to the Atomic/Salmon collaboration ;)

Well of course. I'm just saying it's kind of funny. I mean ok so Marker will do in another 2 years or so what Dynafit did 20 years ago with what is now a two decade success record. Great. They've only been beaten to market by everyone from G3 to Diamir to Look and more. So while yes I am interested to see what they've come up with, I'm not jazzed out of my shorts without actual details other than a few whispers here and there.

Show me a pic and I'll probably get a chub. Until then I'm not going to go full "tween girl at One Direction concert" tho haha

But the big factor is they have not been beaten to market by any big alpine brand that is the point. G3o and damir are both arguably smaller then dynafit so even if they have a good product not many people try them as they are just not that well known.

Marker in compassion are the number one for bindings worldwide. So a lot of there existing customers may jump on board because it's a bindin from a company they already know an trust. Look at how well the duke did Even though fritchi had technically had a similar product for years.

the he bigger picture is how good this will be for all backcountry skiers in general. With big brands getting involved you will see so much development. New skis, boots, skins ect an you will prob also see prices come down and the dynafits of this world will really start tryin to be unique again an may develop really cool ideas and push the market even further. Overall it's prob the best thing to happen to backcountr skiing in a while.
