"The federal government will be in charge of making sure the country's marijuana supply is safe and secure and Ottawa will license producers.

But the provinces will have the right to decide how the marijuana is distributed and sold. Provincial governments will also have the right to set price."

"As for Canadians who want to grow their own marijuana, they will be limited to four plants per household."

the fact that you guys are literally 16 years behind on making it legal for medicinal purposes kinda makes this an entertaining jumble of stupidity.

the dispensary situation in Vancouver isn't really transferable to the rest of the country though, we still have 2/3 that opened last year in my town and I seriously doubt that they're fully legal.

Trump's official position on marijuana is that we have an opioid crisis... So giving doctors the legal authority to prescribe a safer alternative is not what we should do. Such a moron it's unbelievable.

Well for some reason a doctor can prescribe pain pills but can't prescribe weed because it's federally illegal. It's a larger issue than just people wanting to get high. Legitimate perceptions protect patients from getting fired for failing drug tests and things like that.

No drug solves the root of the problem. That's not what drugs do. Blood pressure medication doesn't make your heart stronger, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

There are some significant kinks that they're going to have to work out, but are hopefully resolvable in this 14-month time frame. Obviously distribution is going to be a sticking point. I mean, Van has like over a hundred dispensaries currently operating? There's no way they can close those/replace with an exclusive provincial weed board without push back. There's a constitutional dispute in there if you look hard enough.

But that's also contrast with this winter's raids on Cannabis Culture shops in Montreal and TO, and Marc/Jodie Emery's corresponding indictment on trafficking and possession charges. They're no fucking martyrs but I can't understand how they can be prosecuted at the same time as legalization legislation is being drafted.

And then just on the social side of things, idk. I think I'm going to get pretty tired of above-ground weed culture pretty quickly. I do what I do but I also kind of hate stoners too, y'know? Chip on their shoulder seems like. I'm not interested in your strains or your goddamn bubblers, dude.

I have yes, and my main complaints would yes be the set in stone prices, and the hours, also the awful "sales" they offer like some smug bitch. And because those are slow processes that I really don't have an interest in, might eventually do wine though when I have my own place, my grandpa does it every year. And yeah I know, I've never really been against it, im stoked to grow in my yard instead of some random bush hoping kids dont stumble upon it during harvest/stealing plants season.
