Manually Managing Itunes Music Help Please

I have an Iphone 4 and I synced it to another Itunes account, is there any way I can get music from my friends computer without syncing it to his own. For some reason even when I applyed the "manually manage music" setting on my iphone it was not applied when I connected it to my friends computer, maybe Apple fixed this for the new iphone?

Any help is appreciated

if you have a PC hold down ctrl + shift as you plug it in and it should skip the auto synch part if there is one and allow you to continue from there
