Manual, shutter priority or aperture priority

what do you use when shooting i use shutter priority and aperture priority for my shots and they come out really sick but others argue manual is better what do you think

Use whatever you can get a good shot with. Typically, if I am shooting something like a race/some freestyle events, so a relatively constant exposure, I use manual. Take a few tests during warm up, and I'm good to go.

On the other hand, my mother uses a 6D with a 70-200 f2.8L to shoot picks of my little bro playing hockey. For being indoors, there is a surprising variability in the exposure. I usually do something like set the aperture wide open or at f4 (depending on rink), and then ISO somewhere around 2500 (6D is great at high ISO), which forces it to use a fast enough shutter. Alternative is to lock the shutter at 1000+. Both ways work pretty well, and in this situation it is "better" than manual, because it is also ready and gives her a high keeper rate.

Meant to add that I shoot mostly with primes, and I set the exposure each time I move. Same angle, same subject (relatively), same light, so its easier for me to leave it in manual and not worry about it getting confused by reflections from the snow or something like that.

All that matters is getting the right settings. In my Dunning-Kruger days (I'm currently in the post-DK depression) I'd talk shit on program users, but then I realised that the Olympus Trip 35 I walk everywhere with is essentially program.

Anyway, if you understand what each control does and you've metered correctly then you should have absolutely no problems using any of the camera settings, then you can figure out what you like.

If you still don't know then you need to practice more. You can't ask the internet to practice for you, go take some fucking photos.
