Mammut Europe??

Looking at the Mammut beacons, shovels, probes and it has an option to pick a region (USA/CAN, EURO, JAP) does this mean they are region specific and cannot be used in other regions?

The frequencies for some of their advanced features are set by region so a Europe one may not communicate the more advanced features with other non regionals

Sorry for the late response but I don't check at/backcountry often.

Despite doing copious amounts of research and being aware of the w-link feature, I spaced it out and bought a barryvox from europe since it was $100 dollars cheaper. I realized while it was in shipping and emailed mammut. Mammut will change the frequency for free, you just have to email them to get a form then mail it to their service center in VT. It took about an additional 2 weeks and $15 shipping, which wasn't a big deal since the season hadn't started but I'd be pissed if it was during the season
