i know this is probablt more of a tgr kind of thread but im goin up to mammoth next month over spring break and i was just wondering if any of yall know anything bout top of the world at mammoth... whats it like??? does it have mandatory airs, how narrow, etc ive seen pictures but theyre from far away so i cant tell

If you are referring to the top of the gondola (where the top of the world sign is) there are about a million ways down from there, many of which do not have mandatory airs. Depending on the snow conditions, there are a ton of cool lines down from the top. They even groom a couple of nice steep sections that are a blast to rail switch. PM me if you wanna know anything else....we're up there all the time.

i meant like balls to the wall, searbys, juniors

i guess i was mistaken i thought that cliff area was called top of the world... anyway just wondering how extreme these are (hopefully you know what im talking about)

Ahh in that case yes...Searby's is probably the only one that is relatively tame. I steered clear of Cowboys two weeks ago since there was about 15ft of gnarley exposed rocks on the line in before the drop. That said they have gotten a couple feet since then. Still a seriously high consequence line if you don't point it right. +1 for having someone underneath since you can't see a thing from the top.
