Mammoth New Years Eve/Day

Have only NYD off so was planning on driving up from LA Tuesday afternoon/night, skiing NYD then driving back after.

Anyone know what crowds and traffic are like on NYD? I'm guessing traffic will be light NYE..

Also, anyone know of cheap places to stay relatively close to the mountain, or anyone willing to let me crash a couch for some token comp?

I’ve got connections at mammoth and might be able to hook you up.

I have never drove there myself, but I don’t this it will be like I-80 in Colorado on the weekend. I bet once you are in Ventura County the drive isn’t bad.

Isn’t there busses that go from LA to mammoth?
