Can anyone tell me what there is in Mammoth to do other than going to a bar but are there any sick bars too. I'm thinking about moving out there and I just was wondering how is it? and the bud too of course. Is there a skatepark? what is the job status? hard to find work or easy? I'm 23 btw +++karama for good responses

Well you can ski...

There is pleanty to do here. Bike, fish, dirt bike, bloudering, hiking, rec sports, camping the list goes on. No matter what time of the season there really is no excuse to be bored (unless you're snowed in I guess)

My favorite bar is the auld dubliner in the village - they have an excellent taco tuesday. I am also partial to the Austria Hoff since it is accross the street from me. The colcktower is pretty good too, although it is strictly a beer and wine place. Many people like lakanuki and wiskey creek. There are a crap ton of bars in this town though, I am sure you could find that suits your needs.

The Volcom brothers skate park is in Mammoth, it has some really cool features. I am not much of a skater, but a lot of my friends are and they like the volcom park. There is also a little kid skate park in the Shady Rest park.

You can find a job if you look, I found jobs even during the absolute dead time. There are many threads about mammoth jobs already (ie "mammoth homies") take a look at those

First couple nights I thought maybe just some brofest parties or something....after a week or two you realize mammoth is a brofest. The gals aren't lying, haha seriously everywhere i go its 15 dudes hounding 3 girls.

Here's a key thing to know when it comes to the girl guy ratio in Mammoth.
"If you're fat ugly and mean.... move to Mammoth and you'll be a queen." hhaa

at least its better than the 1 to 11 ratio here....
And side note, the mammoth ratio has improved dramatically the last few years.

If all you care about is living the shred then mammoth is the place.

if you like girls and people that can carry a conversation about something other than how rad the got in the park that day then look somewhere else. Tahoe and SLC offer for more in life yet still have epic shred available.

Please dont get me wrong...I'm not bagging on Mammoth. If thats the life style you are looking for then there is probably no better place in the world.

Yet I have a very different take on this. I've found the people in Mammoth to be a lot more motivated than the other ski towns I've been in/lived in.
Can's speak for SLC, but I feel like people in Mammoth are more genuine than many of the tahoe peoples, at least for the 1 - 2 seasoners, many of them recent college grads, doing internships.. that sort of thing. When you get into the real locals, id say each community is about the same. Except for Summit... this place is like no other... ..... .... ........................

I speak from the experience of living and having a career in mammoth for many years. Still maintain contact with many still living there and not much has changed. The Mammoth bubble is quite unique and if your are of one track mind and under the age of 25 it is the best place in the world. But as the poster asked...after bars, skatepark and bud then there is not much to life in Mammoth unless you have a career and family then at that point none of the prior matter..there's not much in the middle there.
