you go to start and then run and type in msconfig and whatever pops up you go to the startup tab and uncheck those items but make sure you do the right ones.

just restart you're computer and while it's booting up hold control. It will bring up a panal, click on "safe mode" then it will start windows running just the bare essentials

don't start in safe mode that kid is an idiot ... run msconfig and turn off the programs you don't want to run when you boot windows

in msn go to settings or whatever personal settings i think it is and search around in there and there shood be a little box with a check mark in it that says open when i log into windows, just click on that check and voila no more popping upage of msn messenger

Most programs have the options to turn themselves off at startup. If it's something that gets on your nerves, mthoodmeadowsgirl is right to run msconfig.

OR if some of the options don't show up, go to start and run, type in regedit and hit ok. Navigate to these 2 places.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

When you select those folders you'll get the list of programs set to run at user login. There're also folders such as RunOnce and RunOnceEx (replace the word Run w/either of those two). Those hold values for exactly what their names say.
