Here is a video made by Rekiem skateboards, makers of custom boards from France. I thought it was pretty awesome to see how much work goes into making a skateboard, and am sure it is a similar process for skis. Regardless of how much work it takes, these boards look awesome and I'm sure its a rewarding process!

dude this is so sick. It would for sure be an awesome feeling to ride something that you made yourself. Good find!
 
I wanna make a longboard really bad, it must be fun riding somthing you made. That's assuming it doesn't break at high speed and kill you.
 
that was sick. im thinking about building myself a press either for skateboards or for skis next summer and learning how to make something like this
