how do you make an icon...ive got a pic i want to use but i dont know how to scale it down so it will be the right size and still look high quality

yeah man, just post it on here and one of us will do it, it's to hard to explain how to do it with any small free editor for macs, or any platfor for that matter...

i tried to make one... i sized it down to 50X50, then changed it to jpeg in photoshop, and it stil didnt work

anyone know of a simple way to scale it down. im an idiot at computers, and i need to know how.
