Making a box out of a ladder and plexi glass?

so i just thought of this idea a few days ago, get a wide ladder about 15 feet long and put a piece of plexi glass or something easy to slide to cover the footstep parts and make it stay on there somehow, would this work?

i dont see why not ...but the tough part would be sticking it to the ladder

so do you think plexi glass would work? is plexi glass the cheapest and easiest thing to slide or is there another type of material thing kind of like a box

if you're putting something on top, any ladder will work. I'd say it's probably easier to drill into a wooden ladder, but it doesn't really matter. No, I have not seen whiteshine, and I am just talking in general. And yes, i know it's possible, because I have an aluminum rail. It slides fine, but you scrape the edges of it off, because it is so soft.

Well, the box I built is very similar to a ladder structure... You can countersink some screws through your topsheet, and add some pvc piping to the sides....

the [ and ] would be pvc... the inside would be a wood ladder, and then just screw in a topsheet, voila.

or you could take a ladder turn it like on its side put legs on it and put something on for the top sheet and u have a rail

you'd probably have to put something under the top sheet, whatever it may be, so that it's high enough to be flush with the sides of the ladder. if you were to do that, you could probably drill holes in the rails of the ladder, then countersink bolts through the top sheet, through whatever you use to raise it up, then through the rails, to secure the topsheet to the ladder. or secure it through the sides of the ladder into the topsheet and whatever. and unless you're planning on building a plaform for it, or leaning it up against a retaining wall, stairs, etc., it's going to be a flat box a few inches off the ground, which would probably get boring quick. if you go forward with this, keep us updated. it sounds like a good idea if you put enough time into it.
