so i was thinkin

i got some metal roofing around and i thought maybe i could make a rail by bending it over some wood.

anyone tried this before?

aluminium doesn't slide at all, thats probably what the roofing is made out of. For all your other needs join the build a jib cult.

doesnt work
1. wont slide
2. wreck your skis
3. to hard to get in to a piece of wood without screws that stick up or enough to keep it stable

go out and buy some composite deck material at any lumber store its about 2 dollars a foot just drill a hole in it then put the screw in works perfect built a 16 foot rail out of it

I've heard PVC sheeting does wonders.. I personally have a rail that I'm proud of made out of old water pipes that my dad picked up from a construction site. Three, 3 foot sections pushed together and frozen/partially nailed to a wooden track does the trick.

1. Stop Being Cheap.

2. Go to the Build a jib thread

3. Build the dub barrel 15 foot pvc rail (cost's like 50 bucks)

4. win.

I agree. Give it a shot. You CAN slide aluminum and regular steel. The problem is that it is soft. When you land on it, your edges can leave big dings. Then later your leading edge hangs up on it and you get pwnd. It really depends on how wide it is. Rubbing wax on it will help prevent your edges from tearing it up somewhat. Cold Rolled steel is what the parks use. It is harder and doesn't get dinged up as much.

pfft fuck building go to kijiji, someone sold me a 14 ft down-flat-down and an 8ft flat rail for 75$ and he dropped em off at my house
