Not sure how many of you, if any at all cook/grill, just thought I would pass this on...

http://www.sirius.com/wo/i/martha/grilling_cookbook_full.pdf

I saw that link on another forum I am on. Despite it being Martha Stewart affiliated, there's a few clutch recipes on there that make the mouth water bigtime. It's in PDF so you can easily save it and reference it when you want a ridiculously good grilled meal.

Weird, I clicked the link and got the PDF, then closed it by accident and went to DL again and I'm getting the Sirius website now? Anyone else getting this?

Very weird. I get the same thing if I access from the link I posted, but get a good link from the other site I found it on.

Let me try reposting.

Oh, and word of notice, kitchen jokes in this thread going forward will earn yourself a 5 day ban. We've been over this.

Odd. It's (both links) working right over on my end now.

Oh and off-topic, but props to you for your support of Magic! Great mountain!

nope

oh well

just google and you can find a link that works.

Thanks for the heads up steve, I will be using this on the regular for sure. I grill like a sonofabitch in the summer.

well it is a weird designed webpage so just do this:

first, go to http://http://shop.sirius.com/ and at the top of the page there is a button that says "What's on Sirius", click that. Then look to the left at the "Our Channel's" column, scroll down to entertainment, click the + if it is minimized on the bar, then click martha stewart radio. then just scroll down to the FREE: SUMMER GRILLING COOKBOOK..download now. yerp. deffinitly will use for teh bro-b-ques.

Good find. I am fending for my own here, luckily my mommy made me some stuff that is in the freezer, but I am learning more how to cook. I actually enjoy it.

Cooking is definitely not bad. It can be fun, and when you make an awesome meal, it's super gratifying.

Last week, grilled salmon on a cedar plank with a maple syrup glaze. Have that with some rice and beer. It was so awesome. The price of everything was a hell of a lot cheaper than going out to eat as well.

I gotta try that with a trout sometime, plenty of cedar down here, I might even go lop a fresh plank off a downed tree for extra flavor. Do ya just lay the plank on the grill with the fish on top?? I've seen em kind of stand them next to a fire before.

Eating at home is so much cheaper, and usually tasted better as well cause I don't fuck around. I've been cooking different shit for long enough that you just kind of develop a feel for stuff. Been making marinades from scratch lately just for fun too.

Of course beer makes any adventure more enjoyable and fun :)

sounds.......DELICIOUS i personally love to cook/grill things and eating something that i made thats actually good is always nice

+k for you sir

Well, the cedar gets soaked in water for at least a half hour prior to the grilling. The longer the better, as it helps to saturate the wood and avoid a raging fire. Then the cedar is layed on the grill with the salmon on top. I ran too high a heat and didn't soak my plank enough. Ended up torching my plank thoroughly, but it was right near the end of the cooking time and I was able to pull the fish without ruining it, haha. There was a hell of a fire inside the grill though. :P

It was my first time grilling with a plank, so there is a learning curve of course. Made for a wonderful flavor though. Smells absurdly good while it is cooking too.

Two confirmed bachelors sat talking, their conversation drifted from

politics to cooking.

"I got a cookbook once," said one, "but I could never do anything with it."

"Too much fancy work in it, eh?" asked the other.

"You said it. Every one of the recipes began the same way -

'Take a clean dish'".
