Make Chad's a Gap Historical Landmark Petition

It's a good idea, but I don't think the government will consider it a historic landmark because it does not have "significant historic assets". In the skiing community it is obviously historic, but I doubt it will be considered that on a large scale.

A better idea would be to create a petition for Alta/Deer Valley to agree that they will not destroy (blow up) Chap's Gap.

^ thanks ! chads gap also is once where thousands of dollars of silver was found and processed. in that sense it had assets.

but yea more of a petition to raise awareness.

I agree

bump, its fun to joke about chads gap until its gone. then you will look like a tart trying to make a joke about something that really isn't there.

and yes, deer valley now owns solitude, alta cant wait to get their hands on this lift to get those rich skiers here.

chads gap history is rich with assets. alta is a ski town, what more assets does it need than skiing ?

mining alta

chad

candide

t rice and roman d slaughtering that bitch

newschoolers

tanner yune

wilson durtschi

the only reason i think chads is in jeopardy is because its literally the easiest way out of grizzly gulch, it airs over the road to access the place. alta just took out an old pile of rocks because it was blocking the intermediate piste. the times are a changing.

We're actually working towards making the entire Wasatch into a National Monument to mitigate development. So interesting topic considering.

And the lift would not link Alta to Deer Valley per se, it would connect Little Cottonwood to Big Cottonwood as a part of the entire "ONE" wasatch development plan.

deer valet owns solitude, which is big cottonwood canyon. its probably only a matter of time before they buy brighton and run a monopoly on wasatch one.

In order for ONE wasatch to happen it has to be a multilateral decision between all the resorts at play, the state, and federal government. Surely the umbrella companies that own resorts have their eyes on more resorts but there are many other factors at play than just buying resorts and putting up chairlifts.

Although, I have heard the chair lift is already built and in storage so...

How easy is it to get something designated as a site of religious importance?

Chads Gap is the site of Tanner Hall's sermon on the landing during the first resurrection of our jahstafarian idol.

As much as im for the petition...it would be pretty legendary to actually ski across Chad's gap if they opened up the area with lifts

snowbird has a road built to the bookends. they arent building that road for shits and giggles. if alta didnt spend all their money on snowcats and snowmaking the lift would already be in to twin lakes pass. things are changing.

Just build the chair life under the gap and have a mad chairlift gap. And errrr send it over the gap.

That and Candide's Christening of Chad's. This cross may have been divinely inspired and may have religious significance:
