just peepin old NS wall papers and found this one of mahre using hellbents in xgames slopestyle it looks like. pretty sick. who else can you think of using fat rockered skis in slopestyle comps?

him and pep. ESPN flipped shit because they didnt do anything over a 5, and did everything switch with a bunch of zeros.

The footage was enver released and people ahve been e-mailing and harassing ESPN for them to release the footage. But they wont.
 
dick move. I still really want to see this. I don't see how it hurts ESPN to release that footage, there isn't any reason to release it.
 
It never aired on TV...the raw footage probably exists in some ESPN vault somewhere. I'm pretty sure it was the same year Candide won (2007).
 
well let me rephrase it the guy live 2 house away from where I stay at every weekend when I go to mount snow is the "head of ESPN". it's at my friends house who's dad owns the national inquirer, and the dad told me that who he was just for NS I will ask him about the vid next time I see him.
 
Because ESPN is all about EXTREME!!! and apparently, zeros and switch runs on pow skis aren't EXTREME!!! enough for ESPN. EXTREME!!!
 
i still think it was a dick move from them.

tons of kids wanted to compete here. This was the year PK hunder won the US open and didnt even have an X game invite.

may be they dont give a shit about comps but there were tons of kids who did gave a shit and would have been stoked to compete.

just a matter of respect toward those who make a living competing.

 
There was a hugeee thread about all this at the time and bishop was trying to get the rights to the video and everything. Never really worked out ha.
 
It's all corporate america bullshit. Screw ESPN and their damn marketing, if this footage was out there today our sport would be so much different.
Also, if this was aired live, did anybody record it?
 
I don't think they ever aired it, they just left their runs out of the broadcast. That's what I get from all this.

They got invited less than a week before, and hadnt put on a pair of park skis all season. Its totally theyre fault that PK didnt get invited...

i remember well i was not the only one who didnt like it.

maybe you are so cool and whatever so you dont care, and i dont personnally make a living skiing but some people actually are trying to make it as skier.

any way dont get me wrong i have a ton of respect for andy and pep they are badass skiers and seem like nice guys but i think what they did was not nice.
