Magic Lantern Firmware

it is really useful, easy to install if you follow the videos, and pretty damn safe. plus its on the sd card so you can take it off whenever. check out the site for more info. do it if you shoot lots of video!
 
my t2i just broke, i had ml on it. but don't let me scare you away, im pretty sure it was a physical problem with the memory card slot, as diagnosed by a developer of ml. i just sent it in under warranty, hopefully they don't notice my ml on the camera. in any case, get it, its great.
 
it's not as dangerous as people make it out to be. quite hard to actually do damage during the installation process. as others have said, it's based on the memory card, not the camera. so you can have it on one card but not another so you only have ML when you want it. plus, if you install it, then remove it, and your camera breaks after that, it's still covered since it doesn't change the camera. but if your camera gets messed up while operating ML or while installing it, then idk.

that said, i love ML and have it on all my cards. the white balance feature and mic level feature are my favorites.

i would recommend it for sure! it has so many useful features. there is a possibility that you could brick the camera, there was a thread on this earlier. but in my opinion it's worth it.
 
means your messing up somewhere along the whole upload process. Can't just slap magiclantern.fir on your card.
