Magic J UL

l've ran J's in the past and really liked them. I've had the UL for a season now mounted them up with some shift 13's at the factory recommended mount. I personally like them, they're definitely on the softer end in the tips and tails which gives them that JJ feel. I had roughly 15 days on them on the hill and back country skin track. They charge well, but being the UL's I've noticed a difference in the high speed stability in the chop and chunder as you could expect. Overall though my experience with them has been really, reaallyy gooood
What I've been able to gather from Armada for the MJ-UL is a flex pattern of 5 - 6 - 5 (tip - underfoot - tail). For comparison the 116 JJ's I posted are a 3 - 5 - 4 flex pattern and I personally would consider them to be the softest ski in my quiver. There's a nice write up and review of the OG Magic J's here on NS, (I'll link it below if you want to check it out). The OG's had a flex pattern of 7.5 - 8.5 - 8 so it was stiffer and a couple 100g's heavier than the new Magic J UL. Overall from what I can gather for the UL is, they've dialed in a floaty, poppy flex pattern and turned up the playful knob to 11 by shedding extra weight. Combined with the edgeless tips and tails I'll be keeping my eyes on them in the coming season. Hopefully that helps a bit, I look forward to learning what others have to say about them as well.
