Magazine Displays

Hey all, I'm here redoing my room and realized I have multiple years worth of ski magazines, mostly Freeskier and Powder. I think I want to display some of the better ones on my walls. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or ideas on how to go about doing that. Should I just use picture frames or like a shelf-like display? If you have any ideas please comment.

Thanks.

I framed some vintage hunting magazines once (Sports Afield from the 30s, 40s, and 50s). The odd size of most magazines does not lend them to picture frames. I know you do not want to spend the money on custom frames. Because the magazines you have do not hold value (the vintage Sports Afield do), I recommend cutting the cover off and then matting it. If you do not know how to do this, look it up. I think they would look nice matted and framed. Until you can afford real art (and I'm not talking shitty prints), this seems like a decent way to decorate.

Take a piece of foam core as thick as the magazine (or something like balsa wood if you are feeling fancy) and cut a hole the size of the magazine out of the center. Put a stiff backing (cardboard, wood, foam core) behind it and a piece of glass on the front
