Madventures is a low-budget travel show, which began airing in Finland in 2002, chronicling the off-beat, chillout trips of the "Traveller" duo, Riku and Tunna. Often called the best and most honest show in Finnish television, the show is harshly critical in its portrayal of the tourist world and shows the ups and downs of travelling, backpacking, in exotic locations around the world, barring no limits.

In 2009, the show hit it big and they were able to make a show for an American travel channel, but it had to be in English, so they set out to both old and new destinations, taking the best of what they have to show and teach us ignorant or intrigued masses, who are often droning on and only dreaming of the grand, yet lazy travels that Riku and Tunna embark on.

A highlight of the series is the weekly "Mad Cook" segment, where the two vehemently try out quite disgusting or controversial dishes, such as dog in Vietnam, or Tunna's sister's fresh placenta, always deciding the one to eat a dish with a glorious rock-paper-scissors battle.

So, without further ado, I give you the first episode of Season Three, in English, starting their travels this time around in the Amazonas.

I'll watch this when I have a little more time, but in the mean time you should check out a show that used to be on the OLN called Departures. Seems like a similar concept and is very well done.
 
I'll check it out, looks like it's a very awarded show.

And sorry bout some of the dialogue only translated into Finnish, I couldn't find the Travel Channel versions (which are actually much more censored so these are a better experience). But hey, now you can learn Finnish at the same time!

Can't embed here because lots of cocks and balls and other debauchery by crazy hindus on the shores of the Ganges river, but it's worth checking out, a great episode.

Episode 10. Southeast Asia

The final episode of Season Three. It's a bit heavy in Finnish due to using it as a code language while in Burma under heavy watch of military men, but body language probably reveals a lot what they're saying. Still, ask if you want to know what they're sayin at any given point.

I'd also like to say that when they did this whole trip in 2008-2009, Riku was infected by a terrible hospital bacteria while in Papua, which infected a small rub on his lower back and burrowed its way through his muscles and even lower intestines, causing him a great deal of pain and suffering over the last few years, resulting in thirteen surgeries, and the thing is still not 100% healed. So, what these guys did for the last ten years together, those days might be over for good for the duo, so take this as a last look to a real traveller's mindset and philosophy.
