MADEN AK HELP ME OUT!!

hey guys, im gettin offered some brand new Maden Ak's un mounted in the 179 size for my HH survival setup. first. is this a legit trade for me? and second would i (5'10 165 lbs) be too big to ride on the 179? i want it mounted at like +4 so i can ride some pow and lots of back country booters and switch pow stuff. please get back to me about this and any other facts about the skis would be totally welcome!! thanks.

i have heard that they ski pretty short so you should be fine. and yeah thats a pretty legit trade they are supposed to be epic skis
 
yeah i also heard the 179 was really like 182ish cuz they measure running length. how flexible is the ski anyone??
 
I have ridden both, and I think it is legit. I am 5'11 about 175. the 189s def float better, but are substantially heavier. I prefere the 189s. Though the 179s are still monsters, and should still keep you afloat. the 179s do measure a little longer than 179 (182?), but those that were center mount had a little tip dive on me. They are flexy, but its a good flexy that allows the tips to stay aloft a little more. I think it would be a good deal, they are super sick skis and a lot of fun.
