hey kids, whenever psywar comes back to the board, hopfully he'll be able to read this. mad trix, i rented it. it was bad. awful. sickining. i've heard news about a second version coming out, if this is true, hopfully he will listen to our suggestions.

not all futuristic and dumb. at real, or at least real looking mountains. more like skiing in real life. at like a terrain park with ski lifts in the background and stuff. and then big mountain could actually look like real back country (like that one in SSX, i don't remember the name, but it looks SOOO sweet). when you fall, and it says 'yard sale', actually have skies and poles come off, and not bounce all unrealistic-like. and make the physics more real (like ski stunt simulator at motionplayground.com), it'd be cool if you could tuck in to make yourself spin/flip faster. and it's also be cool (i don't know if it'd be possible) to have a terrain editor so you could make your own parks/mountains. that'd be sweet!!! also, this is my dream: have new school mode, and old school mode, so you could bust out like qud twisters and back scratchers and shit, that'd be sweet also. whew! well, that's my two cents (more like $4, but oh well)

nice suggestions, i likethe park editor idea. more realistic, like no backflips to front flips, and other complete changes in direction, other than that, i agree with this guy.

do more ressech about skiing dont fucking give us all the snowbord grabs,,, the mosly cookie is gay, u should be able to do more tricks then rodeos mistys fronts and backs,,,, if evry1 could do all the special tricks without the mosly cookie it would make game 20X better

 
If the game started you off from scratch and you have to showyour shit. Like enter a small comp and then make it huge, eventually the end of the game would be filming in an msp big mountain movie or a poor boy park movie. You can do comps like Alaska runs or Snow summit slopestyle. The game would be 2 discs and full of so much shit. Take motorcross madness add more cool features an change it to skiing. And editor would be cool like you arrange the mammoth park to look like your own. That would be so sick. hope some video game maker reads this cause its pure gold.

haha yeah i agree with andrewh lol newfie-ville rocks! although i moved away from there so i am kinda contradicting myself!

i like the idea of having to start from scratch thing and then enter a little comp and go from there! and in between comps and stuff have like training days to try and learn new tricks!! or even have a season mode! but so far all the ideas are pretty fricking good!! hell we should all get paid to make the game with our ideas!!

 
umm just dont let 3D0 make another skiing game, how about that. they dont deserve another chance. can anyone remember hearing that fag announcer say 'switch combo...double combo'. also, you've gotta love doing switch switch 900s with vinnie D. they made bullshit grabs like the 'lean' which is really a snowboarding grab, and even then, it's spelled 'lien'. and 'phat earl'? can the designers be any more out of touch with the world? mark my words, now matter how much anyone from that company says they'll 'listen to your input' it aint going to make a difference, the sequel will suck if they reuse ANYTHING from the first one.

tony hawk? fuck that. its a good game but HOW MANY GAMES DO YOU WANT TO PLAY WHICH ARE LIKE THAT. tony hawk on skateboards, tony hawk on snowboards, now tony hawk on skis. shit.

the whole level goal system is neat if done right (cuz it adds more to the game), but it shouldnt be the basis of the game. someone shoudl come up witha new system.. i suppose it would make sense if i actually had some idea of a system that would work but i really like the idea that people have been mentioning about building up from nothing, gaining respect and stuff. that'd be awesome.

and psywar dont get discouraged from all the negativity but it is true there needs to be a lot of improvements done. not much from the first one is salvagable.

the game really does suk i have played it before... i am gettin ps2 soon and i am still gunna bye it just cuz i am so sick of snowboard and skateboard games tony hawk 4 is coming 3 just came out a bit ago! aggressive inline sounds like a good change to...

aggressive inline is alright.. the animation is a bit choppy in some parts, and its fast frame per second, but the game is fun.

yeah, and read the manual, seriously, its sooo insanely funny. it says ' Jonny Moseley, who is one of the leaders of the freeskiing movement, is the man behind this game. In fact, he is not only the sta of the game, but he has been a huge part of the design.' and... 'Since winning the gold, jonny has been using his celebrity status to share freeskiing with mainstream America' uh,riiight... it keeps talking about how moseley is the leader in the movement, sure, he started the 3 mute and stuff, but since then, everybody else has been moving it forward, not him. the game shouldn't be for moseley, it should be for somebody really progressing the sport right now. so gay... so gay....

 
i almost forgot, it says his dinner roll is the move that made him famous; its his own version of a rodeo. YEAH RIGHT....hahaaa, its a god damn cork 720 for christ sake.

have pipe riders, slopestyle riders, and big mountian riders, so you can have more real people

 
yea seriously the first one had horrible gameplay. I'd hope that Activision makes a game, even if it was like Shawn Palmer, because thats a huge improvment from what we have now. Email activision from their site and ask for a skiing game..thats my thought on this

 
yeah activiesion would be good because they are one of the main sponsors of x-games in oz. Which pro would get it though, would be awesome if the game was fully licensed so every one had the right goggles, jacket & skis that would be kinda cool

 
Alrighty, to anyone that didn't like the game or thinks that something needs to be changed: You will have your chance to give your input, I garuntee it.

Newschoolers.com will be working closely with 3DO this year to ensure the game is all a skiing game should be... to do this, we will be making a special spot on the site where everyone can give their feedback, ideas, rants, whatever about the game.

Basically, the future of skiing games lie in your hands: If you truly want something really good, be sure to state your ideas and quarrels in the new section.

3DO deserves some credit.. they're trying REALLY hard this year to make the game what skiers want it to be.

unfortunately you're naive if you believe 3D0 will make a good skiing game, or deserves a second chance. the first one is soo shitty because they rushed it out the door to try and cash in. that and because 3DO is a shitty company that failed in the console business and isn't so hot at making games either. you will see, but the biggest indicator: if the second game keeps jonny moseley in the title, i think that says it all.

 
So if someone messes up a game, they should just give up and never make another one?

I wish you could see how hard the 3do guys are working to make this game what the skiers want. They've been taking trips to different ski scenes, talking to many many people in the industry, etc... the amount of work they're putting into this shows that they deserve a second chance.

Also, this game won't be rushed at all. I don't think it's coming out until 2003/2004 or something..

well maybe if they did that in the first place it wouldn't have turned out so damned bad. I mean there's a freaking 'lean' grab, and yet liu kangs are a special trick. phat earl? and the fact that you can do a switch switch 900 with vinnie D? the game SUCKED. it's as if the game was designed by someone who thought freestyle skiing meant skibalet. so no, I have absolutely no confidence in them making something decent, and I feel that any other company out there could easily do something 100x better.

 
3DO, whatever.

They should follow more in the steps of Aggressive Inline, SSX Tricky, Freekstyle and etc.

I too am looking forward to JMMT2 but would want that game to come out by early 2003 or something because... look at the PS2 game scene right now, too many board related games and just one lousy JMMT.

If 3DO is doing it again, I just hope and pray that they listen to the 'real' newschool skiers and let us have a killer game on our hand.

I actually give them some credit for realizing that their game sucked and for the fact that they are making the necessary steps to improve upon that. Look at GTA3, it is 10times better than the other two, so i dont think everything is lost yet.

 
I'll reckon the first snowboarding game sucked too.

3DO has a long way to go, but I think they can pull it off and make a fun newschool skiing game.

It would be great if they released some test versions for the PC so we could try it and send in some REAL feedback.

 
whoa your a little harsh on 3do i say props to them on making a skiing game, I never played the first one but I think if they make it more realistic, have real parks, a park editor, and put it out on multiple platforms (ie. computer) the game will rock.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)
 
From talking with the guys at 3DO you can't imagine how much they want to make the next game better than the first. They are totally into getting input and you guys will have a say in the very near future so keep your ideas coming.

 
Its not the people who make the game's fault that the higher ups want it rushed. Give the guys credit. Yeah the game was bad, but at least one came out at all... I for one definatly think they can make as many games as they want.

All this shit was poasted long time ago, if any of you remember when pswar started coming to this site right after the game came out there was a whole shit loda of poasts. They are working on the second game, im 95% sure there will be a park editor or park creator section cause when they were making the game first time round psywar said something like 'we are trying to get a creat a park mode ready for jmmt but if its not ready for the first release it will most likely go into jmmt2' i also Instant messaged psywar bout it amd he said they are working on getting thew ski patroler thing (ie: like the cops in gta3) but the physics realisims is a really hard thing to creat and it may just tke up to much space in the game.

 
maybe they should bring out a mike douglas proskier and he wouldnt let it be gay, also i think that practice mode should be based on high north or COC or another camp because that would be realism.

 
I didn't read everything above, but off the top of my head don't make the turning and spinning buttons different. It's a pain in the ass. Anything else I felt was weak in the game was probably already said.
