Mad River's stepping up

In the past Mad River has been a continuous joke within the Midwest park scene. A couple of years ago they began to turn things around and this past year we saw some of the best improvements ever. This year it looks to be no different. They plan to create an entirely new park on the hill named the Capital Park. Posted here is the first advertisement about the new park:

It reads:

"New for the upcoming 2009-10 ski season, Mad River Mountain is proud to present Capital PARK. Topping the list of the summer improvements at the Resort, is a focus on the terrain park that has been a long time coming to this region. Cut from the same mold as Big Boulder's park, Capital Park will showcase the experience and dedication of Peak Resorts to quality terrain parks. The creative minds of the Capital Park Crew and the Resort Management will ensure quality, fun , and progression all season long. In addition to the growth of the Intermediate and advanced portions of the park, the focus has not eluded entry level skiers and riders. The Resort will offer several oppotunities for the emerging youth market which includes specialy designed introduction expanded beginner terrain, and programs designed for young park skiers and riders as well as their parents. Capital Park will include: expanded park terrain, additional jumplines, growing number of park features, and cash purse park events."

sounds sick!

ughh thats soo sick for you guys!..2 years ago bwine made huge huge huge improvements and then lead us to believe this past year was going to be even better...they tricked us

Yeah that so ill. I am glad to see Mad River stepping their game up. I went there three times this past season after skiing PC all season, and i can say i had just as much fun as i did out west, (park wise, obviously) but hopefully that can continue to improve and have an amazing park.

I saw that, should be sick. cash prizes for contests!!! im prepared. plus did anyone hear themanager will be a skier next year? more skiing comps!

Were expanding our park into a new run im pretty sure, the entire right side of the hill is gonna be a devoted park with the new run being a huge jumpline. this was josh's idea the last time i spoke with him

if anyone was there towards the end of the season last year, mrm had put up a couple of jumps on the sugarbush run

this is where i'm thinking the new park will be... its one of the steepest slopes on the hill so it would make for a great spot for a jump line... speed shouldn't be an issue either

Very stoked on this! And those two jumps they built at MRM at the end of the year were a lot of fun! Can't wait to see what they'll have going on this year...

if theres gonna be jumps like the two that were there at the end of last season ill definitely be looking into buying a pass

o and i may just not be looking in the right place but is there any pass options besides platinum? bc its the the only one i can find on the site and its definiitly a little outta my price range

yes there are other options. last year you could get a once a week pass or an any day pass and both were cheaper than the platinum

We here at MRM are proud to introduce the premier terrain park in the Mid-West, Capital PARK. The '09-'10 season will see a renewed dedication to freestyle terrain at MRM. This includes new and improved features, a jump line, and an overall improvement in the quality of park design, building, and maintenance. Keep checking out our profile to see new updates and pictures. Also, the '08-'09 year end video will be up within the next few weeks!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully you guys can pull it off, I wouldn't mind bringing a crew up there for a comp or some filming or something.
