how many jumps do you guys plan to have in the jump line on sugarbush... will it be the full length of sugarbush?

likin the two preseason jams. last years was fun as hell. gonna hafta put in extra work hours this summer and get a pass

i believe 3 with a roller at the top is the magic number. possibly an option of a couple rails at the bottom or top as well. Definitely a sick idea - the park is heading in the right direction.

you know after reading your amazing posts on here i one day hope to be as cool as you hoskins. haha but yeah dude a 55 ft hit would definitely be a decent feature to throw into the park this year.

Hey everyone! this looks sooo legit. does anyone no what they define as "youth" for the small air/rail jam? I'll be 14 during all of next season so i was jw. thanks

i think a lot of people are mistaken when it comes to "how big the jump is" 55 feet is the length. the length doesnt matter as much as the kicker it's self. if you pull in enough speed you can hit a small, skier-cross type jump which just sends you far and easily clear your 55 foot jump. personally i would much rather have a 35 foot jump with a nice poppy kicker and a long landing. Many parks in the Midwest seem to want to build a jump that is very large when measuring from lip to knuckle but they seem to forget that the landing and the lip it's self is the important part and the length is quite minute compared to the rest. i hope mad river remembers this when building their new park rather than just throwing out BIG numbers

you'll definately be youth, i was 16 last season and was in the adult divison, so youll be safe unlike me.

On note, mike you make a very good point, we did have 55 ft at the end of last year but it was mellowed out to the max, Sure id much rather have a poppy 40ft than a mellow 60ft, but a super poppy 50+...i'd hit it and hit it and hit it til she bleeds

YEAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HERE I COME YOU LITTLE 8 YEAR OLDS!!! but yea i agree, hoow big was the jump that replaced the big air jump?

woo i can't wait to be home over xmas break and check it out and compete in hopefully a few comps..loui vito rail jam at least

I don’t believe many of you, with the exception of a

handful, understand how big a 55 ft jump stands. For those of you that have

been to keystone, the 2nd hit is about 55-60 ft and it puts you in the air for

about 3+ seconds. That jump is used for doubles, 9s, 10s, 12s, etc. A

legitimate 55ft jump is unrealistic for an entire season at mad river. Weather

conditions would not allow for that jump to remain in safe/hittable condition. Ultimately

it would be a waste of time and money as well as an over the top liability.

I would rather see a fun 35ft jump that has decent pop and a longer landing. if

there are 3 well built jumps at mad river between 20-35ft, you’ll have more fun

hitting 3 fun jumps and learning new tricks rather than barreling into a 55ft

jump, the 4-5 times its hittable of the year, with hopes of barely clearing the

knuckle.

truth here...the last jump in kings at park city was maybe 55ish i don't think it would be very suitable..a jump that size..at mad river but like terman said...a poppy 35ftr would be totally sufficient

Word, exactly what I was getting at. During the regular season we had maybe one jump that pushing 50 feet, and we ended up having to push it in because it took too much speed and was generally too big.

Like Heff and Terman said, a true 55 foot jump is BIG. We had one jump that was around 55 -60 when they first put the jump line in at PC. It would be real sick to have a 20 to 30 line with 2 or 3 jumps.

this. Something that puts you up is way more fun than something that sends you long distance.

and the week after big air, they had the lip pushed up pretty damn tall, over maybe a 35-40 ft table, and it was one of the most fun jumps ive hit in a long time, had awesome hang time, and sent you right to the sweet spot every time.

haha yea, and your pretty screwed cuz of your age because you have chris laker and nick goepper who compete in like everything you could

Check out the latest issue of Freeskier. We have a write up in there for the upcoming season. This season is getting closer, cant wait!
