Macs in movies

Iv'e been seeing macs used as the comp of choice in movies lately. In the last 2 days I've watched Accepted and John Tucker must die. In both movies, MBP's were used. Does apple pay for this product placement?
 
As a general rule, Apple doesn't pay for product placement. It's why you'll notice lots of Powerbooks/MBPs in movies or on TV with the illuminated apple taped over, or made to look like a non-descript circle. They get used because most of the production staff are on macs. Dell and company pay shitloads for their product placement though.
 
i see em everywhere...but the only place that i remember is from criminal minds....the girl has like 1000 30 inch displays...damn
