Macintosh Question

so I currently have a powermac
4 x 2.5 ghz PowerPC G5 processor and 8 gb DDR2 SDRAM
running on OSX 10.4 with Final Cut 5.0 HD
I need to upgrade to Final cut studio 3 and I need intel processors to use the new plugins
so what do I need to do at this point? change the motherboard? ram? etc...
also, I'm thinking of upgrading the video card but I'm not sure what I should buy, any suggestions?

hmmm.. it can usually become quite expensive when you try and upgrade the entire motherboard as well as buying ram... id say you should look into some of the new macbooks.

well not necessarily, I have the mac pro tower....so I'm wondering if it's possible to buy the motherboard somewhere else
