Macbook problem.. constant sleep.

funk.

So two days ago I closed the lid to my first gen Macbook (came out two years ago) and went for a walk. Came back an hour later and opened the lid and it wouldn't turn on. The sleep light was still on even when the lid was up. So now whenever I plug it in and try to turn it on it does the usual start up sounds with the flash of the screen and then it just goes into sleep mode.. Anyone ever had this happen or know anything about it?

My battery died about six months ago so I've been running off the wall since then.. don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

Any help appreciated!

does this mean that if I purchased it more than two years ago they won't help me?

Well go back to the store you bought it and exchange it.

Here is some comics for thought:

Could be a ram issue..

But try a PMU reset first.

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Unplug the power cord and remove the battery.

3. hold down the power button for 5 seconds.

4. replace all the power components and start up again.

Let me know if it work.

It was purchased online and there isn't a mac retailer within like 800 miles. and please don't turn this into a mac vs. pc thread. They each have their advantages.

It randomly just started working too. gahh. Technology..

But still am I eligible for tech support if its over two years old?

teh same thing just happened to me 10 seconds ago, theres a button on your battery that you have to fiddle with with your power button as well
